ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options
to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake
ocpak/octools
FAQ:
7950x not boosting pass 5.5G -> check that CStates is not disabled
Detailed Explanation on CState Boot Limiter
Test BIOSes:
new:
X3D OC Preset for those MB with asynch BCLK Support: (for simple slight perf boost for X3D)
DOCP/EXPO Tweaked: (for simple timings tightening)
strixe-e 1515
for crosshair and strix e-e:
explanation of segment2 Loadline:
customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.
example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.
Adds for x3d
dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok
Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4
Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide
works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

@74lobster are you running the latest armory crate? It has some of the RGB control. But also some RGB settings are in the bios.

Hi, yes, I use the mosty updated version of Armoury Crate.
12-22-2023 01:52 AM
@74lobster if you do get latest armory crate, also go into the cogwheel and see if you have updates there.

I already checked, is all updated.

These RGB LED fan header problems with 1807 seem to be a problem with the lower-level BIOS itself. I never hard Armory Crate even installed until I started debugging why some of my fans went dim after the upgrade to 1807. Glad I'm not the only one at least.

Hi, I'm using the iCUE program version 5.9.105 | 12/5/2023 and I have a PC with an ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO motherboard with bios version 1807 (latest version available) and an Nvidia 4080 founder edition graphics card.
When I install iCUE, the system recognizes all the peripherals, while every time I restart the PC iCUE no longer recognizes the motherboard, the processor, the graphics card and the 2 SSD.
To recognize the missing peripherals again, I have to redo the iCUE program installation, but after rebooting the story repeats itself.
This is an another BIG issue.
I attach also the photos of when iCUE correctly sees my entire system and also when it no longer recognizes the motherboard, the processor, the graphics card and the 2 SSD.

I had a couple of issues with my x670 Extreme board. Black Screen Crashes, Laggy Bios etc.
DO NOT connect an Apple Magsafe charger to your PC. It will mess everything up.
I bought this thing a couple months ago and was experiencing all these wierd issues on my system.

1802 stable on EXPO I on default timings or even Buildzoid custom timings.
1807 complete mess. EXPO Tweaked - can't even boot windows - stuck at loading screen. EXPO I and II both unstable (random reboots).
Flashed 1802 back using EZ Flash and it's fine now. All personal BIOS settings were manually added one by one. And yes, I did load optimized defaults before flashing.
X670E-E + 7950X3D + 4x16GB G.Skill DDR5-6000 CL32
And it's not CO related. I even set it to default and it didn't help.
Getting tired with this crap. Will most probably be my last Asus board. It's a shame, I've exclusively been using Asus MBs since ~2004 both with Intel or AMD. The last 3 AMD systems I had, all had RAM related problems with Asus boards.
But hey ... at least my laptops work...until a BIOS update screws either the charging capability or the compatibility with the (yes, Asus) docking station.

There is no GSkill 4x16gb Kit listed in the QVL AFAIK. There are a couple of Kingston ones.
So you cannot expect to get them stable. Especially not at 6000.
I assume you bought 2 2x16gb kits?

I know it isn't listed in QVL. At the time (03.2023) I bought them KNOWING they might not work. Before these I also tried 4x16GB from Kingston (which didn't work so I returned them).
Since these worked from day one, I would expect they should also work 9 months later, is that a fair assumption? The old "not listed in QVL" reply is a crap response since it was stable in versions 1401,1410,1412,1415,1515,1516,1602,1709,1801 and 1802.
Can't recall if it was on stock voltages in 1003,1101,1202 and 1302 but that's less important.
No, it's an utter disgrace to have 17 BIOS versions (and I'm 100% sure I missed some) in 9 months while performance decreases, stability goes sideways, M2's dissapear, USB devices have a lot of issues, LAN cards have a lot of issues, VGA cards with no signal and so on.
"Vendors started working on 256GB support" - why? When you can't even support 64GB in all forms
1 year with hundreds of hours spent by me and thousands of others trying to make a 5k system run properly while Asus doesn't even bother providing a changelog for us idiots spending half of our lives here forever testing.
