ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options
to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake
ocpak/octools
FAQ:
7950x not boosting pass 5.5G -> check that CStates is not disabled
Detailed Explanation on CState Boot Limiter
Test BIOSes:
new:
X3D OC Preset for those MB with asynch BCLK Support: (for simple slight perf boost for X3D)
DOCP/EXPO Tweaked: (for simple timings tightening)
strixe-e 1515
for crosshair and strix e-e:
explanation of segment2 Loadline:
customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.
example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.
Adds for x3d
dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok
Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4
Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide
works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

Hello,
I have to endure an old issue that is suddently showing up again :
I was perfectly stable for more than a year now, then suddently my system does not POST anymore unless I FULLY shutdown the power supply for at least 6 seconds WHILE THE SYSTEM IS ON.
It does not even work if I turn off from windows, then cut off supply, and reapply...
This happened in the past but was eventually fixed with BIOS update. I was on 1415 until now.
I didn't touched any setting in the BIOS.
I tried to udate to latest (1807) and reapply the settings manually but still same issue...
Why does this issue suddently reappear out of nothing?
And why is there a difference beetween AC off on cold boot?
Is there something that is not properly reset by the BIOS on start so that I need to cut the power supply for the job beeing done as it should be?
Why does it behaves differently if I cut off the AC? Why not just doing the same initization every time?
System :
Strix x670e-F
RAM : 2x KF556C40-32 in slots 2 and 4, DOCP1 (5600)
Timing and voltages that were fully stable for over a year, but now only work if I cut off supply while system is on:

Hi, as I have already poste here, I'm using the iCUE program version 5.9.105 | 12/5/2023 and I have a PC with an ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO motherboard with bios version 1807 (latest version available) and an Nvidia 4080 founder edition graphics card.
When I install iCUE, the system recognizes all the peripherals, while every time I restart the PC, iCUE no longer recognizes the motherboard, the processor, the graphics card and the 2 SSD.
To recognize the missing peripherals again, I have to redo the iCUE program installation, but after rebooting the story repeats itself.
Now I realized that by leaving the PC off for a few hours and doing a new cold boot, iCUE recognizes all the peripherals again, so at this point I don't know if it's an overheating problem, (but I don't think so) or rather I think that when If you simply restart the PC, the memory is not completely emptied or some settings are not cleaned, but they are reset once you have completely shut down the PC.
So I would say that my situation is very similar to yours...

Probably a stupid point. Did you disable fast startup?
01-04-2024 04:32 AM
Yes, of course, I disabled it.

Same here, fastboot is disabled.
It really looks like some initialization steps are different, I wonder if it could be the RAM training, because when I do the power off trick, the boot sequence is very fast (less that 1 second on yellow LED), so it must be skipped and context restore used instead.
But I still don't understand why this problem just suddently come back after 1 year...
And I wonder why the behavior is different when booting from no power and from cold boot... Is this from BIOS, or some residual voltages on capacitors?
But then why after 1 full year without any issue?

I have the latest version of iCUE and everything's working fine on 1807.

Glad for you to read this, but is not in my case...

Just a feedback: Upgraded my PRIME X670-P to BIOS 2214 just today (link not yet on download pages). No issues yet using same settings as for 1811.
I did not experience the double-reboot issue any more (LED blinking fast for ~8 seconds, then POST beep is audible and then the board was sitting silent for another 40 seconds until it would boot). So this issue might be gone. I will see after a couple of cold-boots.

How do you guys check if disk is in x2 or x4 mode?
01-04-2024 11:32 AM
How I can check this?
