ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options
to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake
ocpak/octools
FAQ:
7950x not boosting pass 5.5G -> check that CStates is not disabled
Detailed Explanation on CState Boot Limiter
Test BIOSes:
new:
X3D OC Preset for those MB with asynch BCLK Support: (for simple slight perf boost for X3D)
DOCP/EXPO Tweaked: (for simple timings tightening)
strixe-e 1515
for crosshair and strix e-e:
explanation of segment2 Loadline:
customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.
example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.
Adds for x3d
dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok
Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4
Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide
works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

Depends on if your ram is on their QVL.
07-30-2023 07:33 AM
Yes It is. But in my opinion those QVL list are completely worthless. There's no published standard from ASUS or other manufacturers on the testing methods used. What bios version was used? Does approved mean it just had to post one time at expo or xmp? Did they stress test it and for how long? 10 minutes, 1 hour, 24 hours? Including failed test results would be useful and help prove that someone is actually doing real testing.

Upgraded to 1516 (from 1415) a couple of days ago and it seems my 10Gb NIC is initializing flawlessly right now, lol. ASUS, what did you silently do? I even enabled ASPM back, EXPO too, everything just works.
Running EXPO Tweaked with 4x16GB G-Skill DDR5-6000 CL32 (F5-6000J3238F16GX2-TZ5NR), MCR Enabled, Nitro Enabled, Power Down Enabled. PBO Enhanced (Level 3 - 70) & X3D profile applied.
HWInfo reports CPU VDDCR_SOC 1.235V (Auto), timings are 32-38-38-96-146
7900X3D on X670E-E.
QVL only shows 2x16GB but I've been running these (4x16GB) since 1415 (and it only went better and better since then).
I've been through 11 bios versions in 4 months 🤕

i upgraded my x670e-f to 1516.
since then i got once a lost nvme-reboot during gaming. really dont know, what the problem could be.
but more strange is the actual problem...
wheb i tried starting the pc i got 1 long and 3short beeps and the system doesnt boot.
the leds give me a permanent white vga and a green boot signal.
the code shows afaik a gpuproblem. i tried to refit the gpu, no change.
i then tried to start without the gpu, but the problem remains the same.
how can i have a gpu problem without a gpu?
as the 7950x3d has an igpu it should boot with the igpu...
i also did multiple cmos resets during all the testing, but it didnt help....
any ideas? could this be bios related?

The best way to understand if this is BIOS-related is to flash back to the last version that has been working for you and see if your system will boot.
I have had somewhat similar issues when my monitor input is configured to be HDMI while the PC is actually connected to it via DisplayPort. In such cases I get beeps for not installed GPU from the BIOS but it is still able to boot, I just don't get any output on the monitor until I switch it to DPort, of course. And my system is X570, not X670.

thx for the hint.
it wasnt the bios but simply the fact that the monitor was turned of. had no idea, that this would generate a beep code... 🤦♂️

Hey guys, I believe some of you have pretty fast booting on the 1516 beta bios but mine is no quicker than before. I have MCR enabled and found power down is enabled. I do have fast boot off though, does that make much difference or is there other settings I should look at? Cheers

When power down disable my pc goes to bluescreen every time, i don't change it, it's enabled with mcr and boot is 5-10 sec, but i'm searching NITRO option to enable and don't found it, guys said that with nitro it's even faster.

Is that 5-10 seconds after turned on or after it reaches the splash screen that you enter the bios from?
08-04-2023 10:30 AM
5-10s to bios is complete loading post and pass bios and 7-10 secs for windows. I think my max to bring windows is 20-30s
