ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options

to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake

explanation of segment2 Loadline:

dualseg.jpg

customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.

example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.

Adds for x3d

dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok

97403

97404

Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4

Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide

works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

Does anyone know what these headers are?

t5rd075wfsi91.png

Not even in a manual 🙂

diagnostic header perhaps?

Again it’s Asus, they could be re-using certain boards from a different SKU?

Time to put this to rest Walternate.

Yeah, I looked in the physical manual that came with the board and the one in the support section, but there are no notes on either.

It looks like an old school serial port header... I wonder if it is, like you say, some kind of diagnostic interface.

Near cpu socket: On X670E proart I have one there- though no silkscreen text near mine, it looked like potentially a header for flashing the winbond chip right next to it (assuming uefi). If you’re wondering if it will interfere with thermal grizzly offset adapter, it will. Could be removed, but at this point probably best to keep your warranty intact.

Also on x670e proart all stock photos show an additional two pins in the row with a jumper cap on them, but have not seen that populated on a board in consumer hands.

Near the bottom of the board, looks like lpc debug possibly? I have one that looks the same labeled as such near there - but also have at least one more that looks identical with no label..

Side note- does anyone know if the Asus LPC debug card is compatible with am5 boards, and if so, how to get a hold of one? Been revisiting its dead end product page since my x570 board

Looks like only the three boards in their PRIME series has the TPM/LPC headers, which is frustrating. Not even the ProArt I bought has the facility any more, only fTPM like the others. Design decision seems very backward - I don't need four M.2 slots, I need decent diagnostics not just those bloody LEDs...! 🤣 https://www.asus.com/microsite/motherboard/AMD-AM5-X670-B650/websites/download/ASUS-X670-Series-Spec... has a useful comparison table.

Hi mum!

It's a header for spiflash, if there's a jumper it's a dual bios board, it's mainly meant for in house testing and for service/repair

I think this whole brohaha with the disappearing legal notices is much ado about nothing.

We are forgetting a very useful maxim here, "Never ascribe malice to what is easily explained by simple incompetence."

Installed BIOS 1415 yesterday - x670 extreme, 7900x, 32 GBG.Skill 6000 C36 QVL,win11 with all latest updates, latest chipsetdrivers installed,

This is the first BIOS where i have 0 Errors in Karhu, and Aida Stresstest with MCR and PD enabled! Very good Boottime is around 35 sek -which was before 1:20Min from PowerButton to Win login

GPU is now (so far) initialised correct with PCI 4.0x16 Speed and all Sensor data (before sometimes GPU was not found after startup

SoC is not going above 1.3 V now!
I set ABCLK to 101, FCLK to 2033

Issues
when USB 4.0 enabled - mouse stuttering still exists. I still have to disable USB 4.0 / Thunderbolt in the BIOS

The mouse stutter is a Windows issue. Go to device manager > system devices > Thunderbolt.

go to it’s power management tab and disable it altogether 🙂 all stutter will go away immediately and all apps that cause stutter will behave normally.

Keep TB/USB4 enabled and at full speed in bios.
