ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options
to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake
ocpak/octools
octool port to linux
FAQ:
7950x not boosting pass 5.5G -> check that CStates is not disabled
Detailed Explanation on CState Boot Limiter
Test BIOSes:
new:
X3D OC Preset for those MB with asynch BCLK Support: (for simple slight perf boost for X3D)
DOCP/EXPO Tweaked: (for simple timings tightening)
strixe-e 1515
for crosshair and strix e-e:
explanation of segment2 Loadline:
customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.
example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.
Adds for x3d
dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok
Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4
Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide
works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

Just putting this out there: I was upgrading from ROG CROSSHAIR X670E EXTREME BIOS 0922 (2/24/2023) to 1004 (3/30/2023).

- Using the BIOS flash tool from within the BIOS did not work.
- I had to shut down and press the physical BIOS flash button on the rear panel, after which several reboots went by before I could get back into the OS.
Did you rename the BIOS also when using EZ-Flash from EFI setup?
Previously I was used that I can select any BIOS from an pen drive to start upgrade. Recently on 600 series mainboards I notice that when EZ-Flash is pointed at any BIOS file it will switch off the PC briefly just to auto power-on and enter EZ-Flash. It seems to fail picking up the selected BIOS file in most cases - unless it's renamed using the included BIOS renamer. Essentially it looks to me like EZ-Flash is now just a GUI to initiate BIOS flashback which is requiring a specific name. Or it is a bug.
If it is intended behavior I do not fully understand why BIOS files are not included with proper naming in the download ZIP already and they include a Windows-only-EXE to rename it - so why not just including it with the correct name if it needs to be renamed anyway?
As mentioned previously I was able to use the included name from the ZIP to use EZ-Flash - but this failed multiple times on multiple boards recently. The only thing which worked was either bios flashback (using renamer previously) or using EZ-Flash while the renamed BIOS is used too. For me this sounds like an EZ-Flash bug.

neu:
X3D OC Preset für diese MB mit asynchroner BCLK-Unterstützung: (für einfache leichte Leistungssteigerung für X3D)
Hello I miss the BLCK feature for my Strix X670E-A
The 1004 Bios doesn't have the feature for my 7800X3D.
Will they do that for my motherboard later?

Is there any news regarding fixing Memory Context Restore in Agesa 1.0.0.5+ BIOS ? I'm still stuck with Agesa 1.0.0.3A+D which can run MCR flawlessly. Running 7800X3D with X670E ProArt.
-edit: After reading this thread I noticed someone made it work using the AI Tweak option instead of the "Advanced" option. I can confirm that it does appear to work (for now). It also automatically enables PowerDown mode for the memory. In any case, finally working with 1004 and all the bells n whistles.

is anyone having an issue where on every soft reset you get a 00 error and need to hard reset?

I've been suffering from an issue since 0805, including 1004. It stuck in sleep and cannot be awaken.
I put it into sleep and after a while like 30 mins, I cannot wake the computer up by any method (keyboard, mouse or even power button). Even reset button doesn't work. I have to pull the power cable off. Many times even after this, when I plug it back on and press power button it doesn't start (!). The led turns on, but that's it. It's very annoying. Has anyone noticed this issue?
Strix-e F, 7700X. I change these in the bios: EXPO I, All fans to lvl5, wifi off, bt off, igpu off, led: stealth on power off and all on on power on.
