ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options

to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake

explanation of segment2 Loadline:

dualseg.jpg

customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.

example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.

Adds for x3d

dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok

97403

97404

Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4

Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide

works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

I don't know whether you reuploaded or not but I stil get "Selected file is not a uefi bios" error.

That happened to me and it was due to the file being read from an NTFS partition. I dropped the same file into a FAT32 formatted USB and it worked fine.

I seem to be having an issue with cold boot. I have a x670e extreme with bios 1003 and after the machine sits off for a while it won’t start up when I press the power button on the case or the start button on the motherboard. In order to boot I have to switch the power supply off for 10 seconds or so then I can turn the machine on. Would this be a bios issue or hardware issue?

This may be related to my memory issue, where I get memory errors in short time window after power on (eg. machine sitting off over night, power on, boot straight into memtest -> results in errors in few seconds/minute). I had no-post described above occasionally too (presumably in cases where there are too many memory errors).

Do you have XMP/EXPO enabled? Do you get stuck before/during post or nothing at all happens?

I don’t get any errors. It’s either nothing happens when i press the power/start button or it boots without issue in under 25 seconds. After doing some searching and coming across some threads in this forum about other Asus boards doing the same thing I am now very concerned.

I get the same thing you described - currently on BIOS 925. When computer has been off for a while and I try to boot either nothing happens or (once now) it BSOD. Holding power to shut down then booting again has always worked fine. What about the other threads made you very concerned? I was hoping maybe memory context restore defaulted enabled and that's the next thing I'm going to check. But if it defaults off I shouldn't have it turned on unless setting "EXPO II" does it

This is the exact same issue I had before 1002.

The only workaround was to disable RAM OC altogether.

You may try 1002 or newer if it's available for your MB 🙂

My concern is that the cold boot no power is not fixable by bios update. Those issues are a mechanical issue and the board needs to be replaced or repaired. Check this thread:

https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/previous-forum/crosshair-hero-viii-wifi-startup-issue/m-p/897688

i worry my board suffers from this issue and will engage customer support later today.

Does it boot up if you either :
- Disable ODCP/EXPO
- When it get stuck on boot (I had red QLED), hold down power button for 10 seconds and power up again (without using PSU switch)

If it does, then it's (mose likely) BIOS issue, like the one I had.

Memory Context Restore is always off by default, you have to enable it manually.

The cold boot issue I had was independant of MCR, it was occuring kinda randomly after a long time off (like 3 - 4 days a week on the first boot in the morning).

This issue is related to ODCP/EXPO, I had to disable it as a workaround on ALL bios prior 1002.

On 1002, I can run with MCR + PowerDownEnable + ODCP without any issue, including Cinebench R23.

On 1004, I can run with MCR + PowerDownEnable + ODCP without major issue, I only noticed that Cinebench R23 abort after a few minutes.
