ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options

to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake

Test BIOSes:

new:
X3D OC Preset for those MB with asynch BCLK Support: (for simple slight perf boost for X3D)

DOCP/EXPO Tweaked: (for simple timings tightening)

for crosshair and strix e-e:

explanation of segment2 Loadline:

dualseg.jpg

customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.

example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.

Adds for x3d

dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok

97403

97404

Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4

Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide

works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

Here is EXPO on in 0805
97777

Here is reduced timings and volatge, fclk=2000,uclk=memclk on 0805(still stable).
97778

Not sure if it matters but I in the 1.0.0.5c and above BIOS I start to see tPHYRDL not match between the two sticks. (One of the rare 0088 boots)
9777997780
I entered most of the timings there and set fclk=2000,uclk=memclk.

What part of "test bioses" do you not understand.

My values (zen-timings using 1001 bios) for

tPHYRDL are 34 @A2 and 36 @B2, too.

They are the same like yours. No issues on my side. Maybe it's a mainboard/cpu/ram issue (underlying hardware defect) on your side, decimus28 and you have to find out, which component is causing the mess.

decimus28, did you test enabling (from default AUTO=OFF to ENABLED) POWER DOWN ENABLED mode in DRAM TIMINGS CONTROL settings concerning your problem?

In general activating The GEAR DOWN / POWER DOWN ENABLING command helps the DDR4/5 memory to ensure better system compability.

"DDR5 has a new feature called power down mode that allows the DRAM to enter a low-power state when idle. This reduces power consumption and improves thermal performance."

I've tried setting it to disabled but not enabled. I'll try that tonight during the new BIOS, thank you. The MB asus said they are still looking into and don't want to RMA yet. I have a new CPU but still need to get new RAM if the others don't solve it.

It's the same issue with release 0922, the tests and betas(upto 1001 at least). Same results with nothing but EXPO turned on from default. The manual timings shown there for 0088 was because I was asked if RAM spd might be reading wrong for one or the other so I matched them to working 0805 settings and out of all of them I caught 0088 on a successful POST. I'm sure your've seen from my other post this isn't a test BIOS only issue.

1002 was just released. A number of people at another forum have reported it's fixed their boot issues. Here's to hoping it returns you to 0805 behavior.

Is there any information what has been improved in 1002 ?
As i have 1001 rocksolid aside from some stuff and hate to have to configure everything manually again?

Strix X670E-I Owner here ever since I updated to BIOS 1222 and Installed a 7950X3D my USB has been randomly disconnecting. I have tried what others have suggested including turning off power management to all USB Hubs in device manager to no avail. I have also tried BIOS 1220 and 1221 same issue on both. Also whenever I flash the bios it will fail on the first attempt to post (stuck on orange light) I have to manually pull the power from the PSU and then will Post normally after a long wait afterwards...

Edit:
Rolled back to 0822 on which my 7700X was running fine, 7950X3D still having usb disconnect issues. Also had unchecked power off for usb controllers as well as hubs. Even tried moving some of my higher powered usb devices over to a powered USB hub. I have also tried disabling one ccd. Still no change.

So a bit of an update turns out I also installed Corsair's icue software around the same time as I was finishing up my build as the 7950X3D was the final piece. Turns out icue is causing the usb disconnect issues as I uninstalled it and now not once has any of my usb devices disconnected since. Been on for hours tonight and normally I'd get one within an hour or 2.

Happy to report I'm back on 1222 and everything seems to be working so far. Still had to disconnect power on first post after the flash for the pc to get past the orange light. Boot still takes longer then it should but other than that...

After installing the 1002 BIOS, I noticed my mouse/kb stopped working for about 45 seconds while navigating the BIOS.

I also can't get my Creative Sound Blaster X4 working using my case's front USB C port. It was working for several months with no issues until this BIOS update. Device manager shows an error under USB Root Hub (USB 3.0): Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) The USB hub failed to reset.
