ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options

to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake

ocpak/octools

FAQ:
7950x not boosting pass 5.5G -> check that CStates is not disabled
Detailed Explanation on CState Boot Limiter

Test BIOSes:

new:
X3D OC Preset for those MB with asynch BCLK Support: (for simple slight perf boost for X3D)
97792

DOCP/EXPO Tweaked: (for simple timings tightening)
97793

strixe-e 1515

strixe-f 1515

strix e a 1515

crosshair hero 1515

crosshair gene 1515

crosshair extreme 1515

creator 670 1515

creator b650 1515

strix 650E I

strix 670 itx

for crosshair and strix e-e:

explanation of segment2 Loadline:

dualseg.jpg

customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.

example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.

Adds for x3d

dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok

97403

97404

Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4

Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide

works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

I'm still stuck on 0805 with the Crosshair Extreme and 32x2 G.Skill 30-40-40-96. Wish 0088 or 1001 would POST right for me. Sitting on installing a 7950x3d and MSI MEG1300ai until I find out if it's a bad mobo AND BIOS issus or just BIOS issue. I keep lowering my memory timings and voltages on 0805 and it still runs rock solid for me but anything 1.0.0.5c(or later) is a POST disaster once EXPO is on.

You seem to be having all the bad luck.
Do you have any issues with the newer BIOSes when EXPO is off and entering timings manually?
At this stage I'm wondering if there's something up with the EXPO SPD on your memory and 0805 isn't reading it properly so it just defaults to something workable, while the newer BIOSes might be reading it properly and attempting to apply settings that don't work.

I thought of the above after a bug I had at work recently. We had a bad config (but didn't know about it). Every attempt to upgrade the software resulted in a setup that didn't work. Errors everywhere. Absolutely unusable. After a lot of investigation it turned out that the old software wasn't reading the configuration properly and defaulted to something that worked. The new software did process the configuration correctly and applied a setting that was breaking everything. For months we were trying to figure out what was wrong with the new software and it turned out there wasn't anything wrong at all!

Have you tried with any other memory, or has it just been the same memory the whole time?

Same memory but even fully entering the memory timings doesn't fix it. Timings used for EXPO in 0805 all where they should be when windows loads acording to ZenTiming and what they were advertised as but I can lower the timings and voltage and still run fine in 0805.

for the dual rank mem context restore issue, please enable DRAM power down from bios dram timings for now
thanks

Thanks,

@Shamino.

CONFIRMED: 1001 Bios isn't BSOD anymore, if MCR is enabled and DRAM POWER DOWN is enabled in DRAM TIMINGS CONTROL, too.

X670E-A (BIOS 0922) + 7950X3D + CMH32GX5M2D6000C36W
POWER DOWN ENABLE Enabled and MEMORY CONTEXT RESTORE Enabled = No more BSOD 😮

Edit. No freezing inside BIOS (15 minutes testing)

7950x3d + X670E-E + F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5NR no BSOD with CMR on and Powerdown Enable.

Looks good !!!
Now if i only could fix my gpu load issue then it would be perfect

Was testing the MCR with power down and it was working fine for almost a week. An then it stopped. Windows stuck on boot. Only MCR disabling helped.

CPU - 7950X3D
BIOS: 1003
RAM: 2x32 GB G.skill

Can also confirm for Strix E. Bios 1001 runs now good with the both Settings.

I confirm too - strix e-e POWER DOWN enabled and MCR enabled - nice and fast boot without BSOD - still testing in windows 11.

I found another problem:
- BIOS freeze when I was inside checking settings. Maybe it is connected with USB power lost ? Mouse didn't move, keyboard didn't work. It stay freeezed for about 20-30sec and then CTRL+ALT+DEL worked or it restarted itself. Computer starts again without any info about error. It was my 2nd time in bios 1001.
