ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options

to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake

ocpak/octools

FAQ:
7950x not boosting pass 5.5G -> check that CStates is not disabled
Detailed Explanation on CState Boot Limiter

Test BIOSes:

new:
X3D OC Preset for those MB with asynch BCLK Support: (for simple slight perf boost for X3D)
97792

DOCP/EXPO Tweaked: (for simple timings tightening)
97793

strixe-e 1515

strixe-f 1515

strix e a 1515

crosshair hero 1515

crosshair gene 1515

crosshair extreme 1515

creator 670 1515

creator b650 1515

strix 650E I

strix 670 itx

for crosshair and strix e-e:

explanation of segment2 Loadline:

dualseg.jpg

customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.

example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.

Adds for x3d

dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok

97403

97404

Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4

Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide

works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

Hey Shamino,

is there any newer Test Bios other than the 0902 (https://www.overclock.net/threads/asus-rog-crosshair-x670e-overclocking-discussion-thread.1799959/po...) available?
That one has weird CPU Boost Behaviour on my Hero and 7900x
CCD2 is suddenly Boosting higher than CCD1, at least the effective clocks shown in hwinfo for example
I also face random Freezes/Bluescreens with 0902

Do you know what changes are there from 1003 to 1004?

Currently i am running 0805 which is so far the best Bios

I too experience the blue screen instability on 0902 on my 7950X. I also agree that 0805 is by far the most stable yet.

Same here, we need new test bios!

I assume now this is the reason for all:
https://www.techpowerup.com/303087/msi-releases-socket-am5-motherboard-bios-updates-to-support-upcom...

The 1004 seems to be already for the 3D / V-Cache Models of Zen4
Therefore the Boost issues currently.

Will be interesting how this will work for the 12 and 16 Core options regarding Bios / Chipset Driver / Windows Scheduler / Apps.
What Tasks/Processes work on more Cache and which prefer more clock speed and how this is handled.

Has anyone who has tried the beta/test BIOS after 0805 found it removes the c-state limiter which limits the boost speed?

It's there in 902 on my X670E-E Strix, though I haven't tried it in 902 because in 805 it would severely limit CO values and lower boosts overall. The only thing it seemed to help with for me is seeing higher max boost numbers in HWInfo at the cost of idle stability and real overall performance.

Editing here a few days later...

Per a recommendation, from someone on OCN, if you experience instability with Medium Load BoostIt (which is the option that disabled the C-State limiter), you can use Per-Core Boost Limit to manually limit individual cores and tame the instability. It's just as time-consuming as figuring out your per-core CO values, but essentially a must if you want to disable the C-State limiter.

If I enable Medium Load Bootlit, I can only run an all core of negative 5, even 10 eventually crashes it seems. single core scores around 2019 in cb23 (vs 2005 with my other all negative 20 setup). The multicore score suffers, gets just above 38k, where my other setup gets around 38.63k multi core score.

It's hard to know eaxctly how this affects real world use cases, as with negative -20 all core, I still boost to 5750 it seems, but using medium load bootlit, it def boosts higher, 5870 ish but I'm not sure its worth the hit to all core not having as good all core offset.

Interesting to compare for sure.

Hi, iam New an i have a Problem with strix-e and ryzen 9 7900x. Its Freezing sometimes in idle Mode. Under load all is fine.
What can i do, please help. Iam on 0805 bios.

Thanks
Daniel

Have you made any adjustments to your Precision Boost Overdrive or Curve Optimizer values? Also, do you have Medium Load BoostIt enabled?

Under AI-Tweaker/PBO
- Medium Load Boostit ->Auto
- PBO -> Eco Mode
- Eco-Mode -> cTDP 65W

Curve Opt. -> Auto

From another Thread/Forum i disabled Global C-State Control und Advanced.

Thanks
