ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options

to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake

Detailed Explanation on CState Boot Limiter

Test BIOSes:

new:
X3D OC Preset for those MB with asynch BCLK Support: (for simple slight perf boost for X3D)
97792

DOCP/EXPO Tweaked: (for simple timings tightening)
97793

strixe-e 1515

strixe-f 1515

strix e a 1515

crosshair hero 1515

crosshair gene 1515

crosshair extreme 1515

creator 670 1515

creator b650 1515

strix 650E I

strix 670 itx

for crosshair and strix e-e:

explanation of segment2 Loadline:

dualseg.jpg

customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.

example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.

Adds for x3d

dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok

97403

97404

Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4

Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide

works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

I agree - Just an FYI:

1 - I have tested my GPU on a different PC and it's working perfectly fine at x16 at my daughters gamer PC.
2 - This is my second MB ( Last week I tried a TUF B650 and this week I'm using a X670) and the issue is identical.

My take as mentioned is an BIOS software issue.

I also got a freeze but very strange i can use my mouse but everything else not work i can't open task manager or something and after 3 min got auto restart!
Also my gpu screen lost the signal.

When i use 0801 bios,PBO/PBO2 is very stable
But,the same settings on 0803 bios,PBO/PBO2 is very unstable (In particular, turn on the medium load option)
0803bios mem oc is better than 0801,but i want 0803 PBO/PBO2 to be stable.please

I'm gonna say it could be your CPU? Those lanes are from the CPU and you've tried two motherboards with the same problem, with the GPU testing ok.

I replaced the MB for another brand (Aorus x670 elite) and it's working perfectly fine. There is something wrong with the BIOS on Asus.

Grats, probably just something weird with MSI vbios and Asus MB bios. I saw a few people were having problems with Asus 4090 on other vendor motherboards as well, but worked fine on Asus mb.

Where did you see this? Last Tuesday or so, I switched from a Zotac 3090 to an MSI RTX 4090, and I've had a lot of trouble. I'm running the Asus Crosshair x670 Extreme. This could be my problem!

BIOS versions 0705 and 0804 produce the same results: Intermittent GPU instability. Sometimes the GPU works consistently for a while, other times the GPU crashes a bunch. Other times, for a bunch of consecutive boots, the GPU doesn't seem to be picked up at all.

When the GPU crashes, the video goes out, and the GPU fans ramp up. The machine is still accessible over the network... I can continue to push the CPU hard and have no issues. I've compiled Rust, Firefox, etc.

If this happens when I'm running linux, I can login and see this error:
"Xid (PCI:0000:01:00): 79, pid='', name=, GPU has fallen off the bus."

Apparently this issue can be caused by a number of things including BIOS problems and memory problems.

Interestingly, these GPU crashes happen less frequently under Linux, even when playing games.

It's worth mentioning that I am running 4x sticks of G.Skill F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR at 6 GHz. That's 4x dimms of 16GB (single ranked). Other than the GPU issues, I'm perfectly stable. When I have a GPU crash, I can really push the CPU without issue so I don't think it's due to a memory issue. But I'll probably test with the memory at a lower speed at some point. Right now, I'm trying to isolate the cause and I don't want to try too many things at once.

With 0805 so far, the instability appears to be better... But it's hard to be sure due to the intermittency of the issue.

I have a 1600w Seasonic PSU that came with 12pin cables so no adapters. The connection has no damage at all.

Jayz2cents was having trouble with Asus 4090 on Gigabyte motherboard I think it was.

See if MSI has put out a vbios update for their 4090's, I know Asus has one and along with MB bios updates it should sort it out.

Oh that's right... I think I did catch that jayztwocents video. That was a bit before I got my GPU. I'll go back to it to see if the issues are the same or similar to mine.

Seems I have the latest vbios... For now. But Asus did release a new one for improving compatibility. Guess I will need to wait.

Thanks for your response!

Most freezing issues on windows loading that I experienced is from software like iCUE, Armoury crate, etc loading which will cause my system to hang and if it hangs too long it will blue screen. Uninstalling them all solved the problem, but it still hangs for a few seconds.

I have both of them installed with allot of devices and not have any problem!
