ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options

to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake

explanation of segment2 Loadline:

dualseg.jpg

customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.

example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.

Adds for x3d

dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok

97403

97404

Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4

Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide

works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

I have a problem with Logitech mice connected via USB WiFi dongle (Pro X Superlight 2, G502 X Plus). They work correctly connected to the motherboard via the original WiFi dongle only to USB 2.0 ports or directly via a USB cable to any USB port. Connecting via WiFi dongle to any USB 3.2 Type-A has problems (resetting, malfunctions, stuttering, drop-out...)

Many people seem to face USB problems and I would like to give some hints as I believe many problems could be avoided.

Precaution: I am using a PRIME X670-P so I don't have USB-4. Experiences are referring to USB 3.2 Gen1 and Gen 2.

  1. Do NOT use USB hubs if it can be avoided.
Many USB hubs are just plain bad and causing issues. Try first to connect all your devices to the mainboard connections directly. Even using extension cables (be aware of cable length limits, see next point).
  2. Limit cable lengths: While some connections might work up to 5m cable length it's usually safe to use 1.8m cables. 3m cables might cause some issues and 5m cables to my experience usually result in stable USB 2.0 speeds only.
Keep in mind that any extension cord needs to sum up with the device cord. So an USB disk with 1m cable and 1.8m extension cord results in 2.8m. Also extension cables add additional signal integrity issues due to added connectors. Don't chain extension cables. Replace them with correct length cable. Even better to use directly correct length device cables than extension cables.
  3. Check your devices for defects and always assume devices might be defective and can cause communication issues. Specifically when connected to a hub. Also check power supplies of powered devices.
  4. Make sure to get the latest chipset drivers installed. AMD also released version 6.02.07.2300 recently. Initially the upload was a broken archive but meanwhile it's fixed and the installer is working.

In my personal case I always suffered unstable USB 3 connections on my desk hub. I had 2 of type Icy Box IB-AC6402. Then I did run some 1.8m extension cables to my desk and connected my fast USB-SSD directly to those cables to be on a dedicated connection to the mainboard. This improved the situation a lot. Then I have inspected my USB desktop hubs finding that one of them hadbroken solder joints on the flimsy micro-USB-3 connector (I hate that one for its mechanical design anyway). Re-Solering solved this issue but still occasionally the Hub would occasionally not negotiate as "Generic SuperSpeed USB Hub" in device manager. Replacing the 3m USB3.0 extension cord with a 1.8m one entirely resolved this issue for me (the hub only comes with a 40cm cable.
The second hub was even worse and finally I discovered the hub chip to be broken. It would deliver power and occasionally USB 2.0 was working but the chip consumed a lot of power, was getting very warm and likely causing USB communication issues. I ended up replacing the VL812-Q7 hub chip to resolve the issue entirely (or could have trashed the device simply).

Also for quite many customers of me USB issues often are related to bad/broken devices and specificalls USB hubs. Removing the hubs often resolving the problem. There are also desktop "dock" solutions which just extend a cable from the back of the PC and provide an USB socket to be placed on the desk with no electronics or chips in it. Essentially just an extension cord. So if you have sufficient amount of ports on your motherboard, just use them first before connecting hubs. Same goes for USB-hubs built-in to screens or similar devices. Consider not to connect them. Disconnect unused USB devices and check if they properly work (correct speed negotiation) individually. I have disconnected now both USB hubs in my AOC AG324ux. After doing all those changes I still have sufficient amount of ports for keyboard/mouse, receivers, USB-sticks and drives and zero issues with any of the devices.

Also since BIOS 2412/2413 I am essentially facing zero issues with the whole system. Also similar configurations in SoHo servers now are rock stable running on Linux with uptimes > 30 days. Before I occasionally did run into issues with losing NVMe drives and Realtek RT8169.

YMMV

  1. Make sure to get the latest chipset drivers installed. AMD also released version 6.02.07.2300 recently. Initially the upload was a broken archive but meanwhile it's fixed and the installer is working.

Hello

For my side, the install don't work-nothing installed (try 17/03/2024).

QUESTION:

on version 6.02.07.2300 for windows 10, there are 2 or 3 USB4 drivers available.

On version 6.02.07.2300 for windows 11, same driver aren't applicable.

Maybe I must install the windows 10 version on my windows 11 system for using USB4 ?

REMIND : the 4 USB4 rear port not working here (crosshair x670E with 7900X3D)

I don't Have USB4 entry on the peripherial list. Is it the same for you ?

Just wanted to let everyone know I am having zero problems with 2413 on my X670E TUF with 7950x3D and 7900XTX.

  • EXPO working
  • MCR working
  • All NVMe drives there on every boot
  • PCIe link speed is always full 4.0 x16
  • BIOS time reported by task manager is 10s, is quick
  • PBO/CO working
  • AIO PUMP PWM control works (someone mentioned a few pages back it was not working for him on 2412 I believe)

What mem kit do you use?

I use F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR

A pointless metric.

It's as "pointless" as RAM overclocking above 6000MT 🙂 On a X3D at least. And people still do it.

Is there any news about the AGESA 1.1.0.3? And by the way which EXPO profile working correctly while using F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5NR?
