TUF Gaming X670E Plus WiFi problems after BIOS 3602 update

Hi,

I have rig with this mobo for almost 2 years, was working ok till last bios update:

- Ryzen 7950X (no OC, all time @ ECO MODE 105W)
- 2 x 32GB Kingston KF560C36-32 (@ base 4800)
- 2 GPU: MSI 4090 in upper PCI-e slot, MSI 4060TI 16GB in lower slot, both limited to 70% TDP, this is for AI workloads.
- 3 nvm-e : Samsung 990 Pro 1TB, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB and Lexar NM790 4TB
- WiFi card TP Link Archer TX55E in the middle PCI-e slot (on-board mediatek was unstable from the beggining)
- MSI A1000G 1000W PCIE5 Plus Gold

And this setup was working ok for a long time and through many BIOS versions. Then, in december 2025 I have upgraded to the latest BIOS version 3602. I think, from this moment on my problems had started. All of them happen during the startup/boot - various devices are disappearing randomly. I don't have any problems when the system is booted completely and up.

The first what came out was disappering ssd Lexar NM790. I have contacted with local Asus support, they've suggested to move the drive to another slot, I have change it from M.2_4 to M.2_3 and it started to working ok. Support has told maybe the slot is broken, proposed sending mobo to them, but I've refused - I need working rig at home.
Now everything seems to be working for a while, but then the CPU led started to show red LED at startup sometimes - I had to press reset, and it was working ok. Sometimes I turned on the rig and it was starting few seconds later, there was a delay.
Because of this CPU problems at startup I decided to remove RTX 4060Ti from the mobo. And then the problems were gone - all devices were always present at boot time, the was no delay when the computer was turning on.
But I have investigated furter. I have turned on embeded on-board mediatek wifi card - and it started to dissaper randomly at startup, so I have turned it off, because this was enought 🙂
Somebody having similar problems after BIOS 3602?

Hi @mpieck

Occasionally, this is due to instability. Are you enabling EXPO, and if so have you tried at Optimised Defaults with no memory overclocking?

Please read whole post before reply, the RAM is running at base 4800 from the very begging. The modules are Asus certified for this mobo. I have turned off EXPO (6000) because of the long time memory training at every sturtup, it was "normal" mobo behaviour with ddr5 memory. There are no OC components in this computer, CPU and 2 GPU have lowered TDP configured. There are no problems (no BSOD, hangs etc) when the rig is up and running. It can work long at AI wokloads. If there is an instability I don't know where it is. And why only at startup/boot?

Week ago I have updated bios to unofficial beta 3826 from resource thread in this forum and problems are gone, everything is fixed.

Thanks for letting us know 👍

I have marked the post as solved too early. I'm currently on version 3840, since 3602 I have gone through two 38xx versions and have noticed that my second RTX in the lowest PCi-e slot sometimes (like once per 7-10 turnings on of the rig) is missing on startup, the system doesn't see it. When I restart the OS (so no power off), the next time OS loads, the GPU is once again present. I have tried to turn on and off varius on-board devices and once, when the embeded GPU from Ryzen was off and external wifi card in the x1 PCI-e slot was deinstalled, I have noticed, that both second RTX and onboard wifi was not recognized by the system just after startup - after proceeding restart all was ok, as usual.
