TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WIFI- PCIE gen 5 DRIVE ISSUES

My system is having issues with my Crucial T705 2TB pcie gen5 m.2 ssd. Whenever I install a game using Steam, I have corrupt game files immediately after installing it. This happens with EVERY game I install. I tried installing a game through the Microsoft store and it also has corrupt files.

Here's where it gets weird. I got a Sabrent gen 5 drive and guess what.. SAME ISSUES so I sent that drive back.

I've done health tests on the ssd with nothing wrong. It's a brand new drive with a fresh clean install of windows. I've done the clean install 2x now.

I can only think it could have something to do with the bios/motherboard.

I've updated all of my drivers and bios firmware

This is getting very annoying and it's got me looking at buying a different motherboard

Anyone ever have these issues?

Hi @mattp_160

As both drives exhibit the same behaviour, please confirm:

1. Which slot you are using and whether you attempted to use another on the motherboard

2. Updated the UEFI to 2613

3. Cleared the CMOS via the motherboard rear IO

4. Attempted to replicate the behaviour with EXPO and all overclocking disabled at Optimised Defaults.

13900KS / 8000 CAS36 / ROG APEX Z790 / ROG TUF RTX 4090

1. I'm using the only slot compatible with the gen 5 m.2.

2. Yes, I'm on the latest bios

3. Yes cmos has been cleared several times

4. Yes, I've tried doing a default on all settings.

It's only an issue on pcie gen5 m.2 drives

I can install games on my other gen 4 m.2s and they install fine.
