ROG STRIX X670E-I GAMING WIFI - Probably the worst MB I've ever had

Hi @ all

Normally I don't write on forums to complain, but only to provide or found solutions.
But I have to say that for the MB in subject (ROG STRIX X670E-I GAMING WIFI), I am really disappointed
A motherboard with a this high cost, maybe you expect something more.

Network disconnection only when I play games
When I work, i have no problem, but when I start the game in max 10minutes, i drop the connection (like
of the Intel I225-V 2.5Gb. The only thing i can do is restart the connection via powershell script or reboot the pc.
The issue is like the following link here
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057261/ethernet-products/gigabit-etherne...
I tried everything possible, driver, various of eth settings, power settings, connection negotiation, force 1 GBbit, force 2.5Gb, tried another switch, tried directly to router, changed eth cable cat 6e, cat 7, ecc ...
Workaround: I use an USB to Eth 2.5G adapter

Integrated Audio
Sometimes a very loud, disturbing and annoying sound enters the speakers.
The only thing I can do is unplug the 3.5mm jack and plug it back in. The noise goes away
Tried a lot of settings, driver ecc ..... without success
Workaround: I use a cheaper china USB audio adapter

High Temp of NVME PCIe5
Even in idle, the nvme Gen5 MP700 Corsair reaches very high temperatures.(83°)
this causes a thermal throttle, and the disk instead of going to 10k, doesn't even reach 1k in reading and writing.
In Bios, I setup the 2 mini fans at full speed, but nothing change. The heat sink is really hot, you cannot touch with the fingers.
Not really sure it is a MB problem, because i cannot test the disk in another MB atm, but I think something doesn't really work with the mini fan, because If I put a external fan at minimum speed on the heat sink, the temp drop of -40°, to reach  max 40° under heavy load.
Tried reinstalling the disk, change the thermal pads
Workaorund: I manually put a fan on the heatsink of the MB-NVME

Setting EXPO
No way to setting expo on. If I set ON, the ram reach the correct speed at 6400 but sometimes I have a BSOD.
Tried some various option in bios, and tried with all, or only with one ram slot. The RAM is supported in the list.
Workaorund: Leave it by default and the ram goes to 4800

Unfortunately I can't stay without a PC, so I'm waiting for ITX models with the X870 chipset to come out and I'll change the MB, and I'll see what and if the problems persist. Then I'll send back the Asus MB under warranty.

All tests were done with Windows 11 23H2, later 24H2, Drivers provided by MS by default, Drivers provided by Asus, and provided by the vendor (Intel, Realtek etc...), and of course with variuos version of Bios

Config:
ROG STRIX X670E-I GAMING WIFI
AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D
2x32GB Corsair Dominator  6400 MHz
2TB Corsair MP700 Gen5
2TB Samsung 980 PRO Gen4
Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 7900 XTX

I don't have the solution to your problem. Maybe update Bios or Clear in CMOS.

But I share your opinion, I have always chosen Asus as a trusted brand and from what I see on this forum, there are many people without answers to annoying problems, I am one of them.
What a disappointment... Asus quality seems to have fallen over time

@kkkkkappa

Don't know what to say about your other issues. But RAM 6400MHz is overclocking, turning on EXPO doesn't guarantee a CPU IMC will support 6400MHz.

You have 2x32GB, this would be dual rank dimms, denoted as 2R. Check the AMD CPU product page, section Connectivity, you will see Max Memory Speed section, 2x2R is 5200MHz.  On motherboard tech specs you will find OC by 6400MHz.

Thanks @gupsterg for the info.

after a lot of test and some fix I found a temporary workaround. 🤣

with this fan I also "solved" the network card problem
probably by playing, increasing the temperature of the NVME and the entire MB block in general, causing the network card issue, with the 120mm fan I also definitely cool the MB.

Now I received the new X870i ICE from gigabyte, after swapping the MB I send it to assistance.
Because all mini fan they seem to work so ...

From your post you have sent the ROG board for service. Just curious did you update the ROG STRIX HIVE firmware?
