ROG Strix x670e-f crashing then restarting

Hello all!

I recently upgraded my PC and built it with a:

Ryzen 7700, Asus Rog Strix x670 e-f gaming wifi, Gskill trident z5 neo rgb (6000 mhz cl30) as well as parts from a previous build that ive had for a long time and caused no issues.

Now, when I built it there are constant crashes and reboots under idle, whether its booting into windows or even in the bios. Under load it works great though. I managed to flashback to the latest bios version 3205 and tried clearing CMOS to no avail.

At first I suspected it was the RAM as AM5 tends to be so I tried pretty much everything from Memory Context Restore, C-state, MEMCLK = UCLK, with and without EXPO enabled. Stability varied but nothing worked in the end.

I will say the one thing I have found odd is that the PC wont boot when PBO is enabled so I suppose that it could be CPU socket or CPU related. Only thing I was able to try is reseat the cpu and nothing changed.

Temperatures for everything were all great and generally sub 60C.

Would greatly appreciate any help for what I could do as a last resort, thank you.

Hi @k1t3
Have you tried setting a positive CO offset (Curve Optimiser)? Try between 5-10.

However, reboots under light load are usually synonymous with a failing power supply. Inspect the rail readouts in applications such as HWiNFO and see if there's anything untoward in terms of sag.

Hello! Thanks for the reply,

So I got to playing with the curve optimizer and actually setting a negative offset helped in stability making crashes only occur every 1-3 hours which is fine. I didnt notice anything odd when using HWinfo but I am no expert. For now I will try to get a good PSU as soon as I can and hopefully that fixes things.
