Greetings,
I have just purchased the Crosshair X670E Extreme, The Strix RTX 4090 OC , Thor 1200 , GR701 Case, Ryujin iii 360 newest gen 8 one, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D . I have not purchased the DDR5 for the mother board the ASUS support page is not very forth with or forth coming regarding information wise for the compatible DDR5 memory modules. I saw on the top of the list The Corsair Dominator CMT32GX5M2X6400C38 which is this product DOMINATOR® PLATINUM RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 DRAM 6400MHz C38 Memory Kit — Black
I Can not find it any where online that it is for AMD platform even though it is listed on ASUS Support page link below.
Then I came across this 64GB on the Corsair site CMT64GX5M2B6400C32 which is this product. DOMINATOR® PLATINUM RGB 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 DRAM 6400MHz C32 Memory Kit — Black
Since I have Corsair Keyboard, Mouse, Mouse pad, Headset, headset stand that is all RGB I would like to stay with Corsair DDR5 Ram for ease of RGB integration , That being said I am not sure as to what setup of ram to get or better yet speeds 6000, 6200, or 6400MHZ
Also the Corsair CMT32GX5M2X6400C38 is listed as compatible on the support page but is it the correct DDR5 Ram for AMD R9 7950X3D ?
Do I use 2 modules of the CMT32GX5M2X6400C38 to total 32GB ?
Or do I use only 2 of the CMT64GX5M2B6400C32 for 64 GB ?
Or do I use the 4 module kit for 64 GB? CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB DDR5 RAM 64GB (4x16GB) 6400MHz CL32 - Black (CMT64GX5M4B6400C32)
I will over clock lightly when gaming, but will majority of the time be at stock settings of doing drafting of furniture and cabinet design work for my woodworking shop.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post aka questions and for any insight as it has been almost 7 years since I built a system for myself. The last one is starting to give up the ghost as it is on 24/7, 365 Technology has sure jumped forward very fast my Z270 ASUS ROG Maximus Formula IX is tired and begging to be replaced. As soon as I can figure out the Ram I can purchase my last component and get to building.

You should definitely avoid using 4 sticks of RAM if you want to have have those speeds.
I personally bought CMH64GX5M2B6600C32 and downclocked it to 6200 CL30. 6400 probably works but you need more SoC volatage. I'm currently running on 1.2V set in BIOS, but with Asus boards they add roughly 40mV for some stupid reason to that and it ends up being 1.24V. It's already close to 1.3V deemed safe so I don't recommend 6600MHz on this generation of AMD chips. 6400 is probably at the limit of safe. The ram isn't in QVL but works fine, I just had to put in all ram timings in BIOS manually.
Let me know if you buy this one, I can give you timings set in BIOS.

The rules are based on worst case silicon, so some CPUs need more than others. AMD lowered the voltage limit in AGESA from 1.4v to 1.3v recently, 1.24v is fine. 🙂

That is the Vengeance DDR5 Modules correct? I am hoping to get the Dominator DDR5 Modules, I saw in the CPU/Memory guide from ASUS the Dominator listed as CMT32GX5M2X6400C38 on the list. I currently have Vengeance DDR4 on my current build that is being replaced never really like the looks of it. I also will need to get 64GB as My design software for designing custom furniture when loaded uses quite a bit of memory.
Corsair does have this 6600MHz Dominator SKU listed CMT32GX5M2X6600C32 described as
This will get me 64GB at two sticks of 32GB verses four sticks of 16GB. Will this be able to down clock as you mentioned like the Vengeance? Only want to buy DDR5 once and be done with it. CMT32GX5M2X6600C32 is not listed on the approved list as is CMT32GX5M2X6400C38 , but if it will work and give me some head room then why not go for it. Better to have too much and not enough.
link to Corsair site with the DDR5 https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/memory/cmt32gx5m2x6600c32/dominator-platinum-rgb-32gb-2x16gb-ddr5-dr...
All my other parts are arriving Friday and Saturday 9th and 10th of June with the exception of the AIO Ryujin iii 360 it is delayed . Only thing pending now is the Correct DDR5 Memory. Thank you for the input and for any future assistance.

If unsure, opt for one of the kits present here on the QVL. I would recommend 2x16gb kit rated for 6000-6200. If you need 64gb, opt for 2x32gb

It's still a problem if you set 1.3V and actually get 1.35V 🙈

Yes, perhaps if. However, that’s not the case. The correct way to accurately measure voltage is using SVI3 sensors which are available from within Ryzen Master or HWINFO. The UEFI should also use this sensor. This is AMD’s own on-die controller and telemetry. Other readouts will be higher depending on where the SIO is tapped on the power plane.
If we watch the video you will see that die sense equipped boards, when measured physically from the correct location, closely follow SVI3 voltage (CPU VDDCR_SoC)
Misconceptions arise when one measures from the incorrect locations, which include probe points on the motherboard's power plane or the socket MLCC caps. These will not be indicative of what the CPU actually receives whilst not accounting for resisted losses.
Hope this helps.

I have used HW info to determine 1.24V and the value shown in BIOS agrees. Set point is 1.2V so in my case it's not a problem as it is still below 1.3V. But if you set 1.3V and get 1.34V it could be a problem.

What value are you reading in HWINFO? Please note that the software readings for the Super IO will read higher than what the CPU receives if the board does not have die sense and uses socket sense, e.g. not a Hero or Extreme. The only software sensor in HWINFO you should pay attention to [for VSOC] is CPU VDDCR_SoC which is listed under SVI3 telemetry - anything else can be ignored. The video linked below clearly shows that this sensor follows what the CPU is receiving closely.
