Post code 11 on bios update

crosshaie 670e Hero, 7800x3D, 64 g ram

Initial boot goes into bios fine. Shows v 1003

Downloaded 1004, went to ASUS EZtool, selected the file

PC rebooted to black screen and Post code 11

 

sat there for 5 minutes.

Ultimately, hit clear CMOS, rebooted, went through three memory training loops and back into bios showing I am still on the original bios version. How should I update the bios?

I did download the correct file from the ASUS site, ran the renamer and put the bios file at the root of a usb drive.

Did you rename the bios file?

After you download the bios file, after extracting it, you need to rename it to CX670EH for the Crosshair Hero X670E or use the bios renamer for the board (I have the same board myself). Otherwise it won't flash, also make sure the USB's drive / partition is set as FAT32.

Hmm, the other option is to use the bios flashback USB port.

tried again w ez flash but this time but the usb stick in the 'bios' usb port and all went well.
