Only default JEDEC timmings on x670e plus wifi

Hello everyone,

I've finally got around to actually try to get my memory working properly on my rig, which lead me too a big rabbit hole.

I've been running 4x 16GB CMK32GX5M2B6000Z30 on a 7800X3D which is QLV memory for my system, I assumed my issues were related to stressing the system with 4 sticks which I know to be something this AMDs don't love.

So yesterday I took the day to try to at least get it to work as well as it could, when I finally noticed that although it reported that the RAM was configured at DDR5 6000, it was silently defaulting to JEDEC timings, so first I tried removing the A1+B1 sticks, still JEDEC, tried removing the two sticks at A2+B2 and running A1+B1, still JEDEC timings, tried rolling back to BIOS 1636, still JEDEC timings with both configurations, back to bios 3222, no EXPO configured (default 3600) still JEDEC timings.

It is to be noted that any kind of voltage control on the memory is ignored, voltage control on the CPU works fine. Also of note is that any kind of EXPO profile or timings is ignored 5200, 5400, 5600, even 4800, I mean even the non EXPO default profile 3600 is ignored.

At this point I'm pretty sure some kind of hardware is malfunctioning, I'm leaning towards the motherboard as I've never had any kind of problems with no POST, though I'm at the limit of my knowledge, anyone has any suggestions?

Hi @HeavenArt

You're combining memory kits, which isn't supported or recommended by memory or motherboard vendors

Please read here

1. Clear CMOS

2. Use a single kit in slots A2 and B2.

3. Enable EXPO profile

4. Wait for memory training to complete; this process can take 10-15 minutes, depending on the memory kit and configuration.

Confirm whether the system completes POST successfully or enters Safe Mode (memory training failure)

@HeavenArt

Using 4 DIMMs on dual channel system is tougher on Intel, not just AMD.

I have a TUF X670E WiFi, used it with a few non QVL memory kits and differing 9000 series CPUs, it can OC RAM as well as my X670E Hero.

When you state "It is to be noted that any kind of voltage control on the memory is ignored" are you find changed values of SOC/VDDP/VDDIO/VDD/VDDQ don't apply?
