Hey,
I apologize if this isnt the right place to post this. I recently got a new x670E-A and after installing everything, the first boot went straight to a "WARNING! ! ! BIOS Recovery mode has been detected" screen. I've tried following the Asus documentation online and through the book, with no luck. I have tried 3 different USB drives (all formatted to FAT32) and different USB ports. I downloaded the latest BIOS version off the Asus website, used the BIOS renamer, and on one flash drive I left it as the SX670EA and the other I used ASUS as the name. The first USB I tried was an older one I had, but it was also named SX670EA.
When I plug in any of the USBs, I will hit the reset button (currently on the error screen) and it will reboot. I will get the Orange/Amber QLED light for about 30-45 seconds, followed by red for about 30 seconds, and then no display at all, just a black screen. Also when it gets to this point, I have no QLED showing (other lights are working as well components so its still powered on). I have left it on this screen for 10 mins at a time with no change. If I unplug the USB and reboot, I go back to the recovery screen and I believe it will have a red QLED showing at that time. After working with this for quite some time, I decided to follow EXACTLY how the screen read off and renamed the BIOs files to "SX670EA.CAP" and "ASUS.CAP", I know it doesn't make sense, but I was running out of ideas. When I did that and rebooted, it would go back to the recovery screen.
During my attempts, I have tried shutting down, unplugging and holding down the power button. I have also tried shutting down, unplugging all external cables, unhooking the CMOS battery, and holding down the clear CMOS button for 10-15 seconds. Also on a whim, I tried downloading the 2nd to newest BIOS version and tried it with the same exact results.
From my limited knowledge, it seems that when the file is in the USB with either ASUS or the SX670EA, it seems to detect the file, but doesn't display what would come after. I have also verified that the memory and CPU are compatible with the board. I am at a complete loss here, and I am hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.
