Mute realtek rear audio when front headphones are connected on the ROG STRIX B650E-F

I just purchased the ROG STRIX B650E-F.

I'm having an issue where audio still plays out of the rear audio out when I connect headphones to the front headphone output of my case (connected to the front audio connector on the motherboard.)

Windows immediately detects headphones are connected and shows speakers and headphones as 2 separate output devices. However, once windows default output is set to headphones, audio still plays through the rear output to my speakers as well.

To make matters worse, the audio going to the speakers from the rear output is garbled and extra loud, I assume due to the ALC4080 trying to amplify the front headphone out.

Even if I disable the "speakers" output device on windows so only headphones is enabled, audio still plays through the rear output. It seems they are not being treated as separate outputs.

I see where the old Realtek HD Audio had an option to mute the rear out when headphones are connected, but I cannot find any setting like that in the newer Realtek Audio Console software.

Is there a way to fix this so sound will only play through one of the outputs based on which is selected in windows?

I couldn't ever find a solution so I finally gave up and worked around it by getting a $9 Apple USB-C to 3.5mm adapter and connecting my speakers to it.

This seems to be working fine and since the speakers are no longer connected to the rear output, using headphones plugged into the front is no longer a problem.

Not an ideal solution, but at least it was a cheap workaround.
