I have three questions.
question 1 is why does my system freeze with qcode 35 randomally for no reason (and i ran memtest for 48 hours and it passed everything @6000 with the old ass crucial 2x32GB CL4 amd expo 6000 modules). i THINK it has something to do with signalrgb but i cant prove it
question 2 is why when i hard power my system, why does it hang at qcode 14 (i know according to the manual its cpu something or other) until i clear cmos and reset it. Up until a hard power down to clean fans and spray out dust, then its great with reboots and everything except if i hard power off. so any ideas?Question, X670E
question 3 if i add a 10gb card to the second big pcix slot (cuse the little one wont fit a 10GB NIC), will it drop the first pcix slot down to 8x? (the slot my 4090 is in thats sharing lanes with the nvme1 slot). if its going to drop my card from 16x to 8x on my 10GB network I'd like to know before i buy the 10GB card.
Thats it, three questions. no problems that i need to complain about, i know the cmos reset button (and yes im on 1905, and never had issues until 1904/1905 but whatever i only enable expo, disable integrated graphics and disable crate from installing in the bios so its not a big deal)
thanks

Hi,
Both Q1 and Q2 are likely due to unstable memory. If updating the UEFI and AGESA there's always the potential to have to reevaluate. Have you tried EXPO II?
Q3: Yes, the GPU will be restricted to 8 lanes as the MB supports either 16x or 8x/8x in this configuration. I've tested the 4090 extensively on Intel and the performance deficit from doing this is within 2%

Ok, i set it to expo II and it changed a bunch of stuff on save so we'll see what that does.
The strange thing is everything was fine for almost a year up til the 1904/1905 bios. but we'll see if expo II works better
and thanks for answering the slot question too.

So far so good with expo II! thank you again for reminding me there is more to dig through in the bios
anything i should change for the 7800x3d (its all working fine and i dont want to play with xtreme tweaker unless needed since the 7800x3d is locked anyway) and it runs at 39 idle to 78 full load with the fan curve so thats good. Is there anything i should mess it or now leave well enough alone until I am sure the memory is fixed. I think it might be good now cause it changed a lot of expo stuff besides just the basic timings.
But again, thanks for taking the time to answer me

Great, glad it helped stabilise things. There's not a great deal you can do with these in terms of overclocking (outside of memory). You may wish to experiment with the V/F curve, however I usually recommend users simply enable PBO and go.

Will that make a difference? everything seems steady and solid now with my 4090 and 64GB of ram, can i just leave things alone or should i enable PBO? Literally since you had me chance to expo 2, not one freeze, not one problem with hard power off and power on and i dont want to break anything. and im getting 140+ fps with DLSS quality in every game at 4k (4090 is boosted to hit 3200, hits it, its stable never goes over 80 hot spot, memory is always under 80, core is always under 70). so do i really need to do anything since i'm happy with the fps and system performance now? I just dont want the cpu to burn up but that was something they fixed almost a year ago
OH! does the 1905 have the exploit patch in it that everyone is talking about on youtube? i would assume so but again it doesnt hurt to ask.
Again, thank you very much for taking the time to answer my questions and I very much appreciate it and thank you the time you spent.

In that case, probably best to leave it. There isn't much performance left on the table, but plenty of data out there for you to glance over online.

Again, thank you, everything seems much more stable with expo II, havent had a single problem, and reboot memory training is pretty much instant now while expo 1 always had to full retrain.
I very much appreciate the simple suggestion you made that essentially changed everything to (knock on silicon) be super solid
very much appreciated for the quick help and answer, i wish you well and if anything else pops up I'll post a new thread.
