How do you disable the onboard graphics on Prime B650M-A AX6 motherboard?

How do you disable the onboard IGPU so that I can make use of a DGPU installed on the PCIe slot? Where in the BIOS does this feature get enabled or disabled? I found a setting called "make PCIe graphics primary", but that doesn't seem to do anything, the initial booting & BIOS screen still goes through the IGPU.

Okay, so I'm answering my own question. I figured out what to do, and I'll just put the solution on here in case somebody else has a similar problem in the future. You can follow these steps:

  1. Enter bios screen (F2 or del)
  2. Enter Advanced Mode (F7)
  3. Enter My Favorites menu
  4. Enter CSM (Compatibility Support Module) menu
  5. Set Launch CSM to enabled
  6. Set Boot Device Control to UEFI and Legacy OPROM
  7. Save changes and exit

Hello,

Your other post was more useful and you kind of already guessed the reason 🙂

" I think that maybe enabling Secure Boot and TPM have somehow changed its ability to recognize the RX 480 in BIOS?"

This is likely the reason, enabling secure boot changes how the BIOS interacts with the hardware by running in UEFI mode. If the GFX card is not fully compatible or using an outdated VBIOS this can be a problem.

Does your RX 480 have any VBIOS updates? (what is the make and model?)

It's an MSI AMD reference design, basically the most basic video card you can get. I doubt there would be any VBIOS upgrades on this after all of this time. It is a reference design, so would AMD have such VBIOS's available?

If MSI don't give you VBIOS with UEFI GOP, then there is this tool which I used with quite a few AMD cards, link.

Intel Defector  AMD Rebel

Check MSI website as there could be some updates, these don't have to be recent for instance there may be an update that is 4 years old which resolves the issue.
