Have to clear CMOS if psu is turned off

I have had my Asus ROG Strix X670E board for about a year now.  I have had an issue that I kept thinking new bios updates might solve but hasn't happened yet.  The issue is if the psu is turned off at all then the next time I turn on the system I will get the 00 code and the only solution is to clear CMOS and redo my bios.  My first thought was maybe the small  CR 2032 battery on the motherboard was bad so I changed that with a fresh one and still have the same issue. Not sure if there is anything else  I can try? or maybe I just have a faulty board?  I have continued to update the bios as new ones come out.

MB: x670E strix

Ram: Corsair Dominator DDR5 6200 CL36 2x16

GPU: EVGA 3080 xc3

PSU: EVGA 1200w p3

Hi,

You are not alone on this as whenever we turn off the PC (it cuts the power to the MB) you always face this issue. I have downgraded the BIOS to two levels but the situation prevails.

The fault is @asus's end where this needs a solution from them for sure.

Only solution: Load optimized defaults where the problem never occurs.

If the issue does not occur at Optimised Defaults, you may want to test the memory stability if using EXPO or adjusting CPU V/F or FCLK. When the system AC is lost, the board will perform more comprehensive POST tests.

Are you enabling Memory Context Restore?

Don't believe I have that enabled. The only thing I ever change is turning on docp and turning off the led for the codes. Gonna try it at default and see if the problem still occurs.

Contrary to assumptions, XMP/EXPO doesn't ensure automatic overclocking. Tighter timings or higher frequencies may require manual adjustments for stability. Overclocking cannot be assured due to variance between parts when run outside manufacture specifications. XMP/EXPO success also greatly depends on the processor's Integrated Memory Controller (IMC) capabilities.

XMP/EXPO I - This is the validated board profile. Every time a board is validated with a particular memory kit, the memory vendor and ASUS use this profile to validate the kit for the QVL.

XMP/EXPO II - This is the default DIMM profile from the memory vendor and contains sub-timings stored within the SPD EEPROM of the memory module. 

XMP/EXPO Tweaked - This is the fastest profile and contains various tuned sub-timings and memory parameters. 

For better success in achieving "plug and play" overclocking, consider memory kits that are one to three frequency bins below the motherboard's maximum qualification on the QVL. The higher the frequency and tighter the timings, the more likely manual tuning might be needed to adjust for signal variance between parts—success with memory kits at or near the top of the QVL validation table depends largely on the quality of the CPU memory controller.
