Firecuda 530 with integrated heatsink and ROG Strix X670E-A

Hello, I would like to ask if the Seagate Firecuda 530 Gen.4 2TB SSD (ZP2000GM3A023) with integrated heatsink is compatible with the ROG STRIX X670E-A GAMING WIFI. The version of the Firecuda 530 without heatsink is not available in my country (Italy) therefore I am forced to purchase the version with integrated heatsink, but I have to be sure that it is compatible with my motherboard. I have doubts because the integrated heat sink is very bulky. The Firecuda 530 with integrated heatsink is present in the list of compatible devices on the motherboard, but from personal experience the compatibility lists of Asus products are not reliable. Does anyone know? Thank you

Hello Miky2147

Excellent choice for an ssd.

I'm using the Seagate Firecude 530 1TB in the ROG Strix Z690-F Gaming Wifi, so yes it will work with your motherboard.

You can install it as is, but you won't be able to use the motherboard M.2 heatsink.

If you want to use the motherboard M.2 heatsink, you can remove the Firecuda heatsink by removing the 4 screws, heat it up with a hair dryer then gently pry it away with a credit card.

Thank you. Which is the better heatsink between the integrated one on the SSD and the one on the motherboard?

I'm using the motherboard heatsink and it works very good, I can't comment on the pre-installed heatsink, but it should cool well too, both should give good results.

Throttling temperature for the Firecuda 530 is 70c.

With the motherboard heatsink, the temperature never goes above 50c.

My room temp is 25c, current idle temp is 37c.

Ok thank you, so you also bought a Firecuda 530 with the integrated heatsink but then removed it? If so, may I ask why you decided to remove the integrated heatsink?
