B650E Strix-E Wifi Module Stops functioning.

So the past few weeks the Wifi module has been completely shutting down at random times while I'm playing online games for no reason. I cannot restart the device and it requires a hard reset for Wifi to be functional again. This happens with bios set to optimized defaults and absolutely no kind of OC.

Can you physically replace the wifi module within the rear i/o shielded box? Pretty much ready to toss this board out and buy something else because the Mediatek Wifi 6E modules seem massively unreliable when trying to search the web for similar issues/problems.

Anyone else having similar issues, or have found a solution?

I have not used WiFi but my USB NIC drops out if the Intel integrated NIC is not disabled in the BIOS, even if it’s not been used it causes problems. Try disabling it, it fixes my network problems, might work for you.

So I've tried the following since:

  • Complete OS reinstall
  • Swapped out the Mediatek Wifi card for an Intel AX210
  • Disabling all other network devices in bios
  • Ran for multiple days with bios defaults

No matter what I've tried and what wifi module is installed in the rear i/o slot the module itself will stop working and cut internet. I don't know what else to try aside from just getting a different motherboard, which sucks as there aren't may good options.

I'm starting to wonder if any of this can be caused by device drop-outs due to high temps on the chipset; my chipset temps hit 78c+ fairly easily when I'm gaming and I haven't had Hwinfo open when this happened, but that seems excessive for chipset temp.
