Charging an iPad by connecting it directly to the motherboard is technically possible but not straightforward and generally not recommended for several reasons. However, understanding the concept can be useful for enthusiasts and professionals working in electronics or repairs. Here is a detailed explanation:

Understanding the Concept

  1. Motherboard Charging Basics:

    • The motherboard of a computer or other electronic devices often includes USB ports, which can be used for data transfer and charging peripherals.
    • When discussing charging an iPad via the motherboard, it usually means using the USB ports on the motherboard.

Thanks for your response ... but not sure how that helps.

The rest is loading through the same USB ports ( wireless mousse / wireless keyboard for example )

But i only have the issue with the ipad ( and Iphone ) ...

This is not very complicated. Your motherboard simply does not appear to support PD 3.0 charging like higher end models do. I have the Z790-E Wi-Fi II and it says this on the product page: "Front-panel connector with PD 3.0 up to 30W"

If your motherboard doesn't support this, an iPad is not going to charge as it needs more wattage than an typical USB port can provide. You need to use the charger that came with the iPad to charge it. It's not a complicated issue.

Thats very weird in a time every pc owner in the world owns a mobile phone

isnt that “ 790 feature “ not just mentioned for the high wattage feature ?
