ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO and G.Skill Trident F5-6400J3239G16GA2-TZ5RK

Level 10

Hi, I bought G.Skill Trident 32GB (2 x 16GB) SDRAM DDR5 6400 (PC5-51200) CL32-39-102 1.40V Dual Channel Memory Model F5-6400J3239G16GA2-TZ5RK and I installed in my ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO.

The ram are in the QVL lista but they cannot run at 6400 MHz: I have installed the 1004 bios version, but if I set DOCP 1, the system hangs and I must clear CMOS to fix the computer again.

The maximum working frequency is 6200 MHz, there are a some settings to choose to get ram to work at 6400 MHz ?

Thanks in advannce.

1003 added support for high-density sticks like 24/48GB modules. Not faster RAM.

Check your CPU tolerances for dual channel.

Thanks for your answer.

I don't know how to check the CPU tolerance, but for the moment I own a Ryzen 5 7600X processor 4.7 GHz 32 MB.

Per AMD’s website for the 7600X:

Max Memory Speed 2x1RDDR5-5200

6400 may be too much for the memory controller. If you get stability with 6200, I’d recommend setting up camp with that.

Thank you very much.

You can also get tighter timings using the memory settings presets, you'll need to use Taiphoon burner if you're not sure about the die type in the ram kit.
