Asus rog B650E-E motherboard no option to change CPU core ratio

Hello, as the title suggests the option to adjust the cpu core ratio is completely missing from the BIOS menu.

I am using the latest BIOS version for that motherboard

CPU: 7800X3D

This is my first time using an ASUS motherboard, so maybe I am missing some other option that has to be enabled.

Thank you very much for the help.

Hello and welcome,

These chips are overclocked quite heavily right off the bat.

  1. To manipulate the core and core voltage on X3D chips you need to use the Curve Optimiser. Navigate to the "Curve Optimizer" section and set the sign to Negative.
  2. Proceed to apply the highest stable value possible. Typically, 20-30mV is possible. This will allow the CPU to boost higher whilst reducing voltages.

If you experience instability, most often at low loads or idle, reduce the offset in increments of 5mV.

So, from what I can understand, the X3D chips cannot be overclocked in the traditional fashion?

Thanks a lot for the information

The chip design doesn't lend itself well to increased current. The aforementioned method should give you the outcome you want.

I was referring to the adjustment of the core ratio.

So, the whole  process seems very similar to the radeon GPUs

A static eCLK overclock is possible, although I would need to check if it still is on most up-to-date BIOS, but not beneficial over enabling PBO with a negative core voltage. There's a reason the base core voltage is locked down (remember frequency and current are instrinsically related).

Thank you very much for your input.
