After a BIOS update, Windows boots up but the boot screens and menu don’t appear.

On an ASUS Prime X670-P system, after a BIOS update, Windows boots up without any issues using the external graphics card, but the boot screens and menu don’t appear.

I updated the BIOS on my ASUS Prime X670-P motherboard. After the update, Windows boots up fine, but I can’t see the boot screens. If I press F2 repeatedly, I can access the BIOS menu, but it appears in very low resolution. While these issues occur with my external graphics card, everything works perfectly fine, including the boot screens, when I use the onboard graphics.

Even though my monitor is a 240Hz Samsung G8, I can still run Windows without any issues and play games like RDR2 for hours. However, during boot, I get no display from my graphics card, whether using a DP or HDMI cable. I suspect this issue might be related to an unknown setting in the BIOS. I didn’t want to randomly try solutions like removing the BIOS battery.

Since there are many knowledgeable people here, I decided to create this post. I’d greatly appreciate any help regarding this issue.

My graphics card is an MSI GeForce 4060 Ti 8 GB.

It's a bug with Samsung monitors. You need to hit the button on the monitor repeatedly when booting that brings up the OSD Menu, them you'll see the BIOS and can hit the Del key to boot into it. Only other option is if you have a second not Samsung monitor, turn the Samsung one off before you boot and you'll see the BIOS screen on the second monitor.

It's a bug because the Samsung monitor goes into sleep mode right away, so no boot up screens.

Honestly, it’s disappointing to hear this. There were no issues before the BIOS update, but they started after updating. Also, it’s quite strange that the boot screens appear when I connect the monitor via HDMI using the onboard graphics card.

See if there are any firmware updates for your monitor. My new G5 ultra wide 1440p screen came with firmware 7 not even on the Samsung site yet, you could only download firmware 5 version, and it's fixed with 7 for some reason.

My 34" 1440p second Samsung screen it's not fixed but it's not my boot screen so it works.

My Asus ProArt monitor is also slow to wake up, I solved this by increasing boot delay to 5sec in bios boot settings.
