A media driver your computer needs is missing. Windows 11 and X670E

New build: Asus X670E Hero and Samsung SSD 990 PRO.

Want dual-boot with Linux and Windows: Debian Linux installed without a hitch.
Burned a USB stick with Windows Install Media 22H2. It boots ok, but at start of installation it complains "A media driver your computer needs is missing."

Tried all USB3-ports, tried to put a USB2 switch in between, also tried to put the install media into a USB connector on the USB2-port on the motherboard, all gives same result, it boots but misses a driver.

I suspect it needs the nvme driver, but have been unable to find it. Asus has a installation program which seem to require a running Windows on the same machine (which I do not have, as it is the first installation).

I've search high and wide for drivers that I can load during install, but so far without luck.

I've read quite a few posts, following their advise, but no dice. Many of the posts ends with "and suddenly it worked...", unfortunately I'm on my 3. day without sudden luck.

BIOS is defaulted with F5 (RAID disabled).

What am I missing?

Check that your Windows 11 USB flash drive is GPT-formatted for UEFI. By default Windows 11 Media Creation tool creates MBR flash drive. I prefer to create installation media manually using diskpart and xcopy.

You can also use Rufus to create installation media if command shell is not friendly for you

This worked perfectly.

At my first try, I simply copied the Windows Installation ISO-file to the stick with Linux "dd" tool.
The stick booted fine, so I presumed that something else was wrong, but using Rufus from another Windows machine did the trick.
