9800 X3D won't post, no display output

Hello,

I got my hands on a 9800x3d to replace my current 7950x3d on a Asus Prime Series X670-P Wifi mobo.. No matter what I try I never get any display output, no bios, nothing.

I updated to the latest bios (3057), tried going back to older bios, tried removing the the gpu (4090), one stick of memory, etc. I've reset the cmos multiple times in different configurations. I've switched around to different display outputs. I let it sit on for over an hour.

When I put the 7950x3d back in works fine every time. The only new component is the 9800x3d.

I have: 32gb geil 5200 ddr5. Gigabyte RTX 4090. Asus prime series x670p wifi motherboard.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi @Osric

Can you confirm which if any of the QLED indicators are lit?

Not helpful at all, but my board only has QLED through the power light and my case doesn't have one :'( About to just give up for now and save up for a new motherboard.

It's about as helpful as one can be vicariously, that's what the function is for - you didn't mention it in your initial post. Are any lit?

The Prime series is not a ROG product, but you can go to ZenTalk or contact service for your region if you still require assistance. 👍

No i was saying my info wasn't useful to you since I can't provide any QLED. Thanks for the assistance

IMO this looks more likely to be a rare case of a dead CPU? Especially if the old one works without any issues. I'd suggest first isolating the issue, not just randomly buying a new MB.

Yeah, I'm going to RMA it regardless before I waste more time. My cheap MB makes it harder to troubleshoot though which makes me want to upgrade
