X570 E-Gaming not booting

Lykaon

Hi!

I bought a used but presumably working motherboard which has a strange error: The error LEDs are not lighting up but the RGB of the motherboard are slowly blinking. However, nothing is happening when I try to boot the PC. I tried removing all parts (CPU, GPU, RAM, battery) and it still does the same thing. Does anybody have an idea what could cause this? Because the only thing that could be broken now is the PSU (which I just transferred from my old working PC to the new one) or the motherboard. The guy I bought it from assures that it was working when he sent it.

Thank you!

So according to the manual it does not matter if you connect only the 8 pin CPU cable or both the 8 pin and 4 pin cable. Well, it does matter. This particular motherboard requires both. Please put more effort into writing your manuals!

Hi @Lykaon

I can't speak for what you may have been doing, but the manual is correct. The EPS12v 4-pin does not need to be connected.

Hi @Lykaon

Ensure the front panel header for the power button is correctly inserted. Are you hearing any audible noise when attempting to fire up the system? It may be best to firstly contact the user you purchased the motherboard off.

The front panel header is correctly attached, it clicks differently upon pressing the power button and the psu fan starts spinning - unlike when I remove the power button header. Just wondering what error that could be, as the motherboard RGB should defninitely not be blinking when the computer is not turned on, right?

So it seems the RGB is lighting as soon when the PSU is turned on for this model? That would actually be a good sign. I will try to update the bios to Ryzen 5000. Maybe the former owner had a Ryzen 3000, I am waiting for his reply.

You're right, I just tested it with a newer PSU and it works with only the 8 pin connection. However, with my old PSU (Enermax Revolution XT 750 W, probably over 10 years old but still working) the PC won't boot. Was there some technological change over the past years that could cause this?
