Currently coming soon modded bios that work even with Matisse Ryzen 3000 cpus. I finally figure it out today and put it all together. I had to get it validated by someone with a 3000 cpu to make sure but all options including fan controls are exposed including Spread Spectrum in the Extreme Tweakers menu. HPET has to be search with F9 but it there. And yes should be able to fix your own fans from shutting off with the min rpm setting. Also you can choose what sensor temp is assigned to which fan header other the CPU. These are just a few of the highlights.

I will making them for C7H boards both wifi and non wifi. There will be 2 versions of each 0002, 2703 with the original SMU FW and with Gupsterg SMU FW replacement bios. After that I will see about making it available for other boards as time allows.

These are time intensive mods on my part each takes a few hours.

Thanks in advance! It's people like you making C7H one of the most fun boards to use, if not the most troublefree 😉

Anyhow I think I should name these bios XXXXunleashed or how ASUSSHOULDDOBIOSXXXX

This is repost of from OCN where I do a lot of work and get a lot of info. This is from last night. I plan on doing a write up on how you can do this as well. It is not too scary. More modded bios will come, including using the original smu fw. The people I am thanking greatly assisted me figuring out how to get it work with matisse ryzen 3000. I believe they all have a presence here as well. I just got up and having coffee and will work on others today.

/edit it is being reported that HPET cannot be searched on two the bios. I will correct that later today. Not sure if just matisse cpus or not.

"Almost all hidden options are now exposed

Work in progress if something does work just let me know. Getting tired been at this for this days will update this post as I complete the mods. These now include all Ryzen CPUs generations. First I must say a big thanks to several people for help with testing, support, possible ideas and words of encouragement. So a shout out to @oreonutz you have been a great help with this endevor with your patience in testing flawed mods and your constant good words. @gupsterg your incites have always been helpful @crakej same for you too, y'all both do so much testing and people just do not realize the hidden knowledge that y'all both have. And do have to give a thanks for to @gupsterg for his SMU FW moddified bios.

Remember this is coming from a very OLD TIMER in both senses of the word. I am old and have been on OCN forever it seems now.

Remember you have to rename and use flashback to flash these.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK who am I kidding we have the most solid flashback of boards.

I will post screenshots...but here is a earlier one in album form missing the spread spectrum showing in a menu as it can be done now. This is from a very old bios but the options are the same for the things we all want. https://imgur.com/a/bQUUKMu

Anyhow currently what should be ready to go and available for download is:

C7H non wifi 0002+ with previous SMU FW

C7H WIFI 0002+ previous SMU FW

C7H WIFI 2703+ Previous SMU FW

More are coming but got to take my dogs for walks.

What is the difference between your and gupsterg's BIOSes that was released earlier?

Actually I used his bios since he had already replaced the SMU FW with the earlier version to allow better boosting. What I added was unhiding options. Lots of options. I know that the C7H non wifi 002+ is working correctly for all...the others may not still be showing the options for ryzen 3000 as that night after I had confimation of the one working with matisse I took some shortcuts which may have messed up the other two for ryzen 3000.

I spent all day yesterday actually cataloging every module in our bios for easier reference for all. Gonna start from scratch and redo each bios today.

It is quite an undertaking.

Here is the catalog of modules that you can edit...most should not ever be touched.

These are the GUID to quickly locate the ones you need since now you really need to mod the "dups" as well for full functionality . Gupsterg is now also working on creating modded bios. Unfortantly there is no way to automate this process and it all has to be done manually. So it is pretty easy to leave things hid as it is very monotonous. Nothing that would break the bios from booting. But still be patient, as I and him get it all worked out. Now though at least we can do it again. I have been working on this nut since the Ryzen 3000 was released even though I do not have a 3000 to work with.

The Reason I am posting this is 4 modules need hex editing for the 1000/2000 and also 4 modules need hex editing to fully unlock things. Plus each bios has to be ran through the latest version of AMIBCP and every option has to be changed to USER in 2 different places. I do it how I like my bios with all options available. Though I do leave the ones that I know not to work or actually dangerous to adjust. So for one bios it really is hundreds of edits in AMIBCP and Hex editor plus extracting and converting the modules.

For future reference for others basically a an FYI for anyone who want to bios mod, on these new combo bios it is actually 2 bios in one. One for the 1000/2000 and one for the 3000, so for sake of modding for capability you need to mod both modules. Further it is an actual requiement to hex edit the 3000 ones for the options to show. Most will show just using AMIBCP on the 1000/2000 modules, less needs to hex edited.

I guess one boot bug ive been having is the varying speeds of VGA detection after post, often having "Load VGA bios" appear on the OLED shortly before detecting it and continuing the post. it is with the 5700 xt. i will test other gpu when i get home, but wondering if any are experiencing this slow vga detection after post with other GPU.

I ran 2703 so briefly I never ran into anything, but I've been using 0002+ a lot and so far rock solid. Not a single fault.

Hey! To anybody at Asus listening:

The Fan Smoothing option in the BIOS DOES NOT WORK. Just flat out. It does nothing. This is on the Crosshair VI Hero. It used to work, but hasn't worked in months, throughout various BIOS versions. How has this not been fixed yet?

I've opened tickets with support multiple times on this issue (Crosshair VI Extreme), each time I have been told to RMA the board.
It seems to me, if Asus's tech support department can't remedy the fault reading from the list of known faults supplied to them, they just palm it off to the RMA department. Of course RMA'ing a board to fix a BIOS fault is a waste of everyone's time, and until they change they way they deal with these issues, a lot of these faults will never be made known to the actual people who can fix them, and will always pass from update to update.

I really like the Crosshair VI Extreme, awesome hardware with every feature I could ask for, but unfortunately, it will be my last Asus product, I've spent many hours with tech support attempting to get Asus to fix the Fan Smoothing issue, and after flashing 12 BIOS updates, the problem still remains. Imagine if it was something major that I was having problems with, and support refused to take any action about it.
