Are memory bandwidth capabilities going to return to levels seen on BIOS versions 2606 and earlier?

What's diffrences compare to the official bios release update? Are they stable?

Yes, modded BIOS on my PC even more stable than any other official BIOS

Dang, I didn't even notice that it wasn't just the memory bandwidth that was reduced but also actual CPU performance. Anything after BIOS 2606 drops my Cinebench 15 score 100+ points. Still using my 2700X on a CH7.

The Stilt has posted some modded BIOS files over on Overclockers.net for Crosshair VI Hero, WiFi, and Extreme mainboards with the new SMU. I am using the one for the Extreme with my 3900x and I have gotten the best results yet using this BIOS out of all of them...

Does using the Flashback/CrashFree features wipe out the UUID/MAC/SN like using the afu tools does?

What is with this BIOS's all the time man...?

I flashed to 2703 2 days back and i noticed some weird things.

CBS in bios lacks A LOT of settings.. I can't even tweak my RAM anymore..

Boost clocks are fairly good in Windows for a change but that's about it. I can't reboot because it hangs giving random error codes on the display. I also can't cold boot and i have to push the reset button in order to boot properly.

I reset every thing and pulled the BIOS battery in order to do an proper reset but that only results in even more carnage as the buttons on the board do nothing, reset and or save boot as it only boots in the BIOS and or Windows with the same settings..

Now i have to flash back to previous BIOS as this 2703 BIOS is utterly broken for me or my board is going bad.

Try 2501, it doesn't have double post on cold boot or restart, so it should work for you. Plus it has older AGESA and higher boost clocks. Unfortunately it suffers from 0 rpm fans on load, but you can overcome this problem by not using HWINFO.

The problem is not HWINFO but any software that reads from this crap sensor can cause this isssue.. I am one of the first over at OCN that noticed this and gave feed back and because of it i got this CH7 for free. At first it was going so well but now after flashing the newest BIOS it bricked something it seems.

Tired of this Assus crap man.. I can't even sell this board because of it.. I don't want to sell something that is broken or can cause problems with people's system.
Things get from bad to worse sins Elmor (John) left Assus ROG man.. he knew how to handle stuff but he also got fed up with this cluster **** all the time.

Here is a video of mine about this issue on the CH6: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gUIhek6B-k

It is bittersweet news, but it seems like there is a pile of people with boot problems (double boot, code 8, board unresponsive), so perhaps the hardware is ok and the Bios is causing problems.

Lets just sit tight, do the boot mini-game until Asus solves this. Otherwise, they will have to accept a pile of RMA with the buggy BIOS'es that they cannot fix. All of the Hero boards come with the 3 year warranty, so nobody is out of coverage.
