So RAID doesn't work so far, even with the official BIOS released yesterday?

I tested here 7304 beta, 7401 beta and now the official 7306 ... and no RAID.

I have the Ryzen 3700X + C6H.

Hey guys! Considering getting a 3700x and a x470 gaming-F mobo but reading through this thread makes me wonder if I should wait... There seems to be a lot of issues with the current BIOS updates and I am not very good when it comes to BIOS tinkering... I will not do any CPU overclocking or ram overclocking, I just want to play games! The PC will be a semi-custom built system and will come with the latest BIOS updates and tested for stability and such before arriving. Should I wait for BIOS and Chipset drivers to mature? I know this is probably the wrong thread to ask but I definitely feel like you guys are the best persons to ask on this matter, you guys know what you are talking about 🙂 Huge thanks, Hinjima.

Hey Hinjima, If you want to buy a motherboard now, get a Gigabyte mobo. THeir support with Gen 3 Ryzen has been much better than ASUS. Here we are mostly at the mercy of Shamino to release new BIOS versions and there isnt much communication.

Good luck!

Thanks for the input 🙂 Its quite sad that we only have to rely on Shamino ( I use a Asus Z170 board ) They need more people working on BIOS version.. However, Shamino is doing a great job considering!

I also want to add this here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ASUS/comments/cqsafe/msi_b350m_mortar_boosting_higher_than_cvihero/ewz2jyu/...

TLDR The guy puts his 3600 in his cheap MSI B350-M and it boosts properly. He then puts the same 3600 in his C6H and boost is low in comparison. I do think we are suffering from ASUS specific issues here which certain white knight ASUS suck-ups downplay on entirely AGESA faults.

@Hinjima the issues are bad and annoying. But zen 2 really is great, especially in games. I came from a 2700X to a 3600 as I game only and didn't need the cores. I intend to buy either the next-gen Zen next year with 8 cores. Otherwise will pick up a 3900X for cheap. Just depends on mobo support. I will switch come AM5

Yep! I agree, zen 2 really is great and the performance AMD have managed to put into the 3000 series is a fantastic step forwards! But as you said there seems to be a lot of issues this launch and problems that I have no ability to do anything with as I am not good within the BIOS and certainly don't want to mess things up further trying to fix issues .. I am heavily considering a 9700k as I purely game, but a 3700x seems a lot more futureproof as I will keep this new system for 6+ years. I must say I am really torn on this matter and I need a new system very soon. Thanks for replaying.

What issues concern you?

well, I dont know tbh.. random problems that I have no expertise in solving 😛 instability, BSOD, random bugs here and there and maybe issues in upcoming BIOS updates that will create problems booting and again BSOD and instability that requires some BIOS tinkering to workaround said problem etc. I just want to play games problem free 🙂 Thanks for replying, I know this thread isn't really for this kind of topic. But I appreciate all the help I get.

With the newer bios you wont have any issues really. Boosting issues aside. I have rock solid stability and performance. Just avoid the AGESA 1.0.0.2 bios as the C5 errors can be a pain. But 7401 & 7306 are fine in that regard

Thats good to hear, glad you are having no problems except boosting issues. Just now I see that this is a Crosshair thread, I was thinking of picking up the X470 Gaming-F... Oopsie! The Gaming F do have the 1.0.0.3 AB BIOS for now.

Well that interesting, my Dad so happens to have that board. With the latest bios he is getting boosts to 4.3Ghz in games on his 3600X so make of that what you will. He says he regrets not getting a C6H. But he hasn't had to deal with the ups and downs lol. The Strix board is decent
