Nonsense. The parts are rated for way higher temps - I would never run a CPU higher than 75 on a daily basis tho. But there is no socket corruption or whatever else dmg you think this causes. Honestly, this is not how this works.
A lower vcore is also a risky endeavor, especially if you are not 100% what you are doing. Check the last few Gamers Nexus videos, they deal a lot with this stuff. And validate with perf tests.
Back to topic tho: I'm running a 3600X on my C6H with bios rev. 7201 - no issues so far. Boost seems okay, but I have yet more testing to do. No funky boot issue, no post loop either. QFan spin up/down delay is brokenagain, but yeah. That's par for the course with ASUS these days I guess. Under synthetic stress (Cpuz stress test, for now) the CPU reaches 72° with a Corsair H80iv2 and some thermal grizzly. A bit higher than my 1600X, but not at all in the regions of what some reviews measured. Maybe that'll change once I fire up prime95 Ior something equally demanding. Highest gaming load I have seen, in just a few days, was 63°. We have extremely high ambient temps right now where I live, so I could not do a real comparison so far.
