Windows 24H2 Update Issue / TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI)

Yesterday, 12/14/2024. I tried to update my TUF Gaming X570-Plus (WI-FI) with the Windows 24H2 update.

It failed badly. I had lockups and data loss. 😞

I waited until Microsoft gave the ok to update, and I used the update pushed to my PC. Yet, it failed very badly.

I tried to update 3 times and finally gave up and reimaged my harddrive.

Please be aware of this issue. I think Microsoft feels this update is ASUS ready, but according me...NO WAY!

alot of times when Microsoft pushes major updates like this ....before you up date the OS ...update your MB BIOS first ....they do sometimes go together like this just because the way MS changes a security structure... the bios also needs to be aware of these changes in some cases .....if your on the latest bios version for your board give a little bit and when you see a new bios version posted ..up date the bios and most the time the new OS update will work fine!!

I had updated my bios and chipset drivers and still the update bricked my machine. Upon reboot windows would freeze and not allow any keyboard or mouse inputs. So I had to power off to reboot which  lead to data loss.

Finally I reimaged my hard drive. I have never had an Windows update issue until now.

I'm going to wait and not update to 24H2 until spring....maybe....
