link above use edge or ie

I asked about the one you were distributing before this one from microsoft.
The one that was edited but signed and was detected as a virus.
But I see you even edited that post now 😛
So nevermind xD

EDIT:
Actually the one you still link in some of your posts (not the one from microsoft)... is the one Iam asking about and thats the edited driver.
https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ao-k31O1onq_gtFPkh7Nq4cmUVDmxQ

Where did this patch or the whole driver come from? Is my question xD
You made it yourself? Found it somewhere? Where?
Why reupload it yourself and not state sources is where my question comes from. Especially if it contains (probably) false positive.

(specific patch: realtek high definition audio driver 6.0.1.8295\WIN64\realtek.hd.sound.driver-patch.exe)

i See yes that is a false positive trogen/hack tool (realtek.hd.sound.driver-patch.exe) the tool would hex edit RltkAPO64.dll to allow ddl and dts to work except it don't work in r2.82 and above only ddl show but don't work. (i should say it require manual launching it don't run in setup) i will take it out as its not needed and i have re-uploaded a clean one. link still the same.

Should note realtek.hd.sound.driver-patch.exe works great on older drivers credit to pihto and 2bad amen.
driver 6.0.1.8090

--------------------------------------------------------
so i made em - drivers are from - the whole idea was to get dts and ddl working without editing and modding files as that could be ilegal still could be ilegal modifying the driver - dose that include treating them as a jigsaw puzzle (all original/official files)
-------------------------
files from older driver - R2.75- RltkAPO64.dll
-------------------------
Microsoft Update Catalog driver 6.0.1.8295 (is being installed with the Asus official driver installer)

-----------------------------------
anyone who want that tool - realtek.hd.sound.driver-patch.exe

Download Offical Driver - patch RltkAPO64.dll - install

also dts works with headphones 5.1

Yep I cant get 5.1 or DTS working on a windows level, with any official drivers.
Meaning that it will switch to 5.1 or DTS, but only if the source material is setting it. (example: 5.1 video/movie in MPC-HC)
Unable set it in windows sound options, but if I play some 5.1 video it will switch to it.
But thats really bad for many applications and mainly games, as most of them read settings from windows, if you cant set it manually in the game.

So I have to use unofficial unlocked driver.
Exactly this version by Alan Finote:

From thread: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/unlocked-realtek-hd-audio-drivers-windows-7-8-10-with-dol...

Be sure to follow the instructions. You gotta disable driver signature enforcing (step 2) for it to work, as it is not officially signed and it is a custom edited version of the driver.
It will most probably get picked up as a virus (KGAGen.exe), but it should be ok. Used it for quite a few months now.
Any newer versions from that thread disabled 5.1 or DTS again, so I settled with that version (6.0.1.8158)...but it was some time since I tried.

After that you can simply set your Surround or DTS in windows.
Windows update might reinstall it from time to time.

My sound goes over S/PDIF (optical) and using Windows 10 64bit.

Good luck!
Wish it was properly fixed though.

Hello,

Do you know if this works on 7.1?

thanks

On the same techpowerup forum, lost within the comments, there's a fast, easy and clean way to enable everything. Worked like a charm for me.
Credit to bottlefedc83:

1- Get a pre-patched DLL, There's one here https://www.mediafire.com/file/5tc02foihf429tu/RltkAPOU64.dll/file
2- Open Regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Audio
3- Create a new DWORD (32bit) value called DisableProtectedAudioDG with value 1
4- Go to safe mode and copy thee pre-patched DLL to your System32
5- Restart
6- Profit

Small difference, after downloading the .dll I had to rename it to RltkAPO64.dll to replace the .dll that is in the sytem32 folder.
Hope it helps84306

I Use An Old 8.1 Asus Driver From An Asus G30AB PC For Surround 5.1 or 7.1 Has Speaker Fill , V 6.0.1.7035 With my Logitech Z5500 speakers , Works For Me On Two Asus Motherboards and an Asus Strix GD30CI PC , With Windows 10 , 5.1 only Works If Source Is 5.1 unless An Older Or Modified Driver Supports 5.1 , Make a Restore Point If You Decide To Try The Asus G30AB Driver , So You Can Go Back To Your Installed Driver If The G30 Driver Does Not Support Your Needs ,

Just to mention.

Now I use this modded driver:

Download:
https://github.com/AlanFinotty1995/AAFRealtekMod/releases

Forums:
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/realtek-modded-audio-driver-for-windows-7-8-1-10.250915/

Pretty easy to install and with regular updates.

My problem is fixed by changing the default audio format to 24/96.
