What's a 1394 cable and why not connect it to the USB connectors ?

Ok this warning shows up in the manual on p. 1-20 concerning the USB 2.0 connectors :

DO NOT connect a 1394 cable to the USB connectors. Doing so will damage the motherboard!

What is this all about ?
I'd like to hook up a USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 adapter cable. Hope this warning has nothing to do with such a cable ?*
