Some of the AMD CBS settings have been duplicated to Extreme Tweaker > DRAM Timings Control. This is a plus as when a Q-Code: F9 (ie memory training error) occurs and AMD CBS gets reset the values set on Extreme Tweaker are not.
Any value that is duplicated between other areas of UEFI and AMD CBS you only need to set in one place. The duplicated value even though does not reflect the change from another area and stays at [Auto], it will be overriden by the instance where value was set.
So as advised in first paragraph I would set in non AMD CBS locations. The other benefit of setting a parameter in a non AMD CBS section is they will then be in settings dump for UEFI.
Settings dump can be done via Tool Page > ASUS Overclocking Profile > Load/Save to USB > CTRL+F2.
One example is below:-
AMD CBS > UMC Common Options > DDR4 Common options > Fail_CNT
Is now named as Mem Over Clock Fail Count , Extreme Tweaker > DRAM Timings Control.
Another great addition to UEFI 9920 is The Stilt's Samsung B Die Timings.
These can be found in Extreme Tweaker > DRAM Timings Control > Memory Presets . The test kit used by The Stilt was F4-3600C15D-16GTZ RAM kit, so single rank, 1 dimm per channel. Owners with differing rank, dimms per channel and size may find they need to tweak the timings to use. The Stilt shared these on OCN, within the C6H OC thread, if members search for his posts there is further info on tweaks to the timings for other RAM IC, etc.
I would advise to set also:-
i) BankGroupSwap: Disabled
ii) BankGroupSwapAlt: Enabled
When using SR 1DPC RAM kit, as The Stilt has provided information on OCN that this is optimal setup.
The memory presets labels also state VDIMM that will be used. I knew from past testing my setup only needs 1.375V compared with 1.4V that preset has. So I manually adjusted VBOOT/VDIMM as required. I also had to change Memory Frequency [Auto] to DDR4-3333MHz.
I will add some more info as soon as I can. I have a
thread on OCN which has some great pearls of wisdom from Elmor, Raja@ASUS and The Stilt, so would advise members to view. I do update OP as and when required and state any updates up top in OP.
