My setup:
X570 Asus rog Strix Gaming WiFi II
Ryzen 9 5950x with PBO on
64 GB Gskill Neo 3600 Mhz
3 x 2TB Samsung 990 Pro
Cooling Asus Ryujin 3
Gigabyte Arous RTX 3080 Ti Master
PSU Asus 850 Watt
System worked well since April 2023
System after booting works for a while and then suddenly freezes. You can open Task Manager, but nothing shows up in the window, all icons are rendered but no content like processes or task, same goes for folders in explorer, window shows up, no content, after a few maximazie / minimaize, it hangs completly. Chrome tabs can be clicked, however same story, no content inside. Meanwhile I could notice the aura rgb on mobo and ram stop changing colors, I usually have rainbow set and colors are changing, when this freeze happens rgb lights stop changing, on gpu tho it all works normal, rgb lights are changing.
It happens very randomly and recently more often, I really dont know what causing it. Like 2 weeks ago I have used Armory crate to install all drivers the app suggested are not up to date, since then this weird things happening.
I have reinstalled windows 11, I was monitoring temps with HW info, I checked disks temps, gpu temps, all in tact, no overheating no throttling.
I reset the cmos, i updated the bios , i turned off pbo and went for 4.0 Ghz , still the same random freezes happening. Aftef i reinstalled win11 I have downloaded the drivers from mobo support page, I suspect its the same drivers as Armory crate had installed back 2 weeks ago.
I checked event viewer on win 11, no issues, i checked disks and ram.
I have put all parts apart and put it back again as I thought maybe dust causing some bad grounding, I redo the cpu in the socket too.
The freeze happen to be more often on light tasks, like web browsing. On high load like gaming it never frozen.
