Switching from AMD RAID to AHCI without reinstalling Windows

Hello,

I have a B550-F Gaming Wifi that was configured with a RAID0 for 2 1TB NVMes originally. I have upgraded to a single 2TB NVMe but am unable to boot to it using AHCI. I have been able to use it in RAID mode single drive, but Windows always boots with a disk check. Previously, on Intel platforms I just enabled storahci.sys driver in the registry when Dell Latitude laptops were preconfigured this way.  However, preinstalling the AMD AHCI driver does not help, nor did using safe mode before changing. I have searched off and on for a few years to no avail. I am upgrading to a 4TB drive now and I like to fix this once and for all. Hoping someone here might know a solution.
