Hi, I have a ROG Strix B550F non wifi, and a RTX 3080 O10G. The CPU is a 5800X3D, but before I had a 5900X with the same issue.
Whenever I set PCIe to Auto o PCIe 4, the system stutters, but if I set PCIe 3 I have no problems.
So, can this motherboard handle PCIe 4 GPUs or not? If it can, what setting am I missing?
Thanks.

What do you mean "stutter"?
I am having a "stutter" issue where intermittently the video output will freeze for about 1/4 to 1/2 a second when playing games.
I don't recall this happening before upgrading to an RTX 4090 (from 1080 Ti).
Have yet to find any fix for it, and I've already tried a different Windows install to rule out software issues.
Motherboard is a Crosshair VIII Hero though. Desperate enough to just try this anyway.

I have this same mobo (b550-F non wifi) and 5800x3d.
But I'm using a RX 6750XT, which is PCI 4 and x16, no stutters here.
I never changed that setting, GPU-Z shows that the GPU is running PCI 4 x16 correctly.
BIOS: 3405

I've tested with pcie 3 x16, no problem, pcie4 x8 no problem, it's only with pcie4 x16.
Here https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/knml69/asus_b550_f_pcie_gen_4_issues_when_connecting_a/ someone says it's the mobo... @mcury which revision is your motherboard? I bought mine on november 2020.
