[SOLVED] How to kill the onboard HDD led?

Hello,

I have just bought a Crosshair VI Hero yesterday and I love it except that it wouldn't boot with the EK Supremacy EVO on but messed a lot with the mounting hardware and is alright now (hope it stays that way).

Anyway, the other thing that really really pisses me off is the onboard hdd led that blinks orange all the time. Is there a way to disable it? Putting black tape, combined with the mounting issues would be too extreme for a brand new top-end motherboard as I never had a single issue with my 100$ B350 ASRock before that.... 😄
I saw an option in the BIOS but I'm pretty sure that refers to the RGB lightning of the board and not this one.

Thanks in advance,
Tsvetan
Overclock it.....overclock it till it bleeds! If you can read this, then you've not "well" overclocked yet...

Pretty sure, based on the response from at least one other person with the same complaint, is that the answer is nope, can't do anything about it. The hardware isn't there to be able to disable it. Put electrical tape over it. That's the best solution. Personally, it doesn't bother me.

You can hide the annoying LED underneath a tiny black LEGO piece, lol.

No way to disable it from BIOS/software. Put some tape over it.

I just disabled it from the one place that I thought is for the RGB and it wasn't. Latest BIOS.
Now it's all fine except the green led on top next to the debug LED and the LED itself showing a different value while working fine in Windows on every restart (24, 30, 4* etc). Don't know what that's about. I will restart and take a screenshot of the option and where it is in a bit, so it will be easier for others to find.

Looking very very closely it didn't actually kill the hdd led but instead it is very very dim, barely noticable, compared to that bright light blinding me all the time as the case is right next to me.

You can disable it. I know, as I have done it on my C6H running v1403 (1501 created a bunch of cold boot issues). You need to disable the ROG Effects option in BIOS.
