Hello, I would like to ask when the new BIOS is going to be released for the B550 series.

According to AMD, the new AGESA ComboAM4v2PI 1.2.0.cb will fix this vulnerability.

SinkClose tracked as CVE-2023-31315 and rated of high severity (CVSS score: 7.5)

More info at: https://www.amd.com/en/resources/product-security/bulletin/amd-sb-7014.html

Thanks.

I am also waiting for a new BIOS for my ROG Strix X570-E Gaming.

Al other big manufacturers are already providing new firmwares and ASUS is (again) behind. Your pretending to be a premium brand, but does not act like that. Your products are great, one of the best. But you need to step up ons your customer support in this.

I have a MSI board, new BIOS is already there. According to AMD link posted above, this new microcode has been available since 2024-07-30.

Exactly, Gigabyte also released updates.

Asus however, not yet.

Since it is a 7.5 score vulnerability, as I see it, it should be released asap.

Not saying that performance improvements, or other updates should be delayed..

Just saying that vulnerabilities updates should be dealt as an emergency.

I agree!

With AMD reversing course and extending the update to additional 3000 series CPUs I'm waiting on it for ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (WI-FI)

I was reading that gigabytes sinkclose bios fix caused secure boot to break and i'm wondering if asus ran into that same problem and is delaying sending out the fix because of it.  https://www.reddit.com/r/gigabyte/comments/1f3z2d2/latest_bios_update_that_patches_sinkclose_breaks/
