It is so strange!
According to a bunch of users USB issue started in a bios update around August last year.
I don't understand why asus still doesn't want to hear our complaints.
Luckily I bought this mobo with amazon, and I will make the return shortly before time runs out.
This is not small problem. An advanced user can understand and move the mouse to a USB 3 port because he reads the forums, or wait for a new bios.
But any common user who sees his mouse not working properly, makes return immediately.
And then I have a doubt, why did Asus put an updated b550-E on the market? (B550-XE) Only for the more power phases?

No, it has only two RAM slots and more high quality traces, it's for extreme memory OC.

Regarding the USB issues, I haven't noticed any with the newly released AGESA 1.2.0.0 bioses, that is on four motherboards: CH8 WiFi, CH7, B550-F and X470-Prime Pro. However, I use a lot of custom settings which may or may not improve the situation. No USB issues on any of those four motherboards anyway.
R9 7950X - ASUS X670E Crosshair Extreme (bios 0803) - 32GB HyperX Fury Beast @6200c32 - Corsair H150i Pro - ASUS RTX3080 TUF OC V2 - Phanteks P400A - Corsair RM850 - WD SN850

still no new stable bios

Edit: Spoke too soon, USB 2.0 issues are still present from time to time.

I spoke too soon as well. USB is fine, but just got a WHEA error crash on Half-Life Alyx. I don't know if I should try the other motherboard or keep hoping for a new bios.

Edit: Swapping to a motherboard with a non-beta ComboAM4PIV2 1.2.0.0 bios. If this doesn't fix the WHEA errors I'm completing the RMA on the CPU.

1804 not 1805

GTX980 card (awaiting 3080)
5600x cpu
32gb 3600mhz ram (best previously could get running at was at 3200mhz DOCP)

In 1801 I had to set power idle to Typical to get USB to behave.......running the ram sticks ( on the QVL list) at DOCP would cause blue screens on login on 1801)

Updated from 1801 to 1804, loaded optimised defaults, USB looks to be behaving itself. I have set DOCP and full 3600mhz with the FCLK at 1800mhz.....and I'm logging in fine, however screen is blanking frequently for a few ms here and there, so looks like I'll have to set it back to 3200mhz again 😞

Spoke too soon on the RAM side, shortly after posting got BSOD, and then immediately on log in screen again.

Stop Code : Memory_Management

Have set that back to 3200mhz now (with FCLK of 1600) The timings are 18-22-22-42 which is what it should be for when its at its rated 3600mhz, but I dont know how/whats best to set these too for running at a different speed - but so far stable

I've left power control to Auto instead of Typical and keyboard/mouse is working for now so will monitor usage when under load (ie gaming)

Feverdog, which RAM sticks? Curious. I'm also on 32GB DDR4-3600. My RAM (Crucial Ballistix) are NOT on the QVL list but they've been 100% fine on BIOS 1216. Yep, 1216. I reverted that far back in desperation to avoid issues. Ryzen 7 3700X. GTX 980, just like you. Actually, I have two GTX 980s in SLI. Everything was fine up until a few days ago. Power Supply Idle Control was left at default setting. Then all hell broke loose this past week.

I suddenly started getting "black screen crashes" while the system was mostly idle. Music stops immediately when this occurs but the HDD light continues to stay on, fans continue to spin, and no BSOD is generated. Quite curious.

OCCT Power tests pass fully, I was even able to run Prime95 and FurMark at the same time (!) so it most definitely is not the power supply. But what the heck changed in the last week to cause this? Beginning to wonder if I should be checking my surge protector, and/or the PSU power cable itself. Cuz the PSU is clearly fine. Maybe a Windows Update pushed new microcode to my processor? Or is that just Intel who gets those through Microsoft?

Hi,

My ram sticks are Patriot Viper 4 Steel Series DDR4 32GB(2 x 16GB) 3600MHz Kit
PVS432G360C8K

Just checked and they're definitely on the QVL (although interesting it says 3000 series CPU ok for 1,2 and 4 config, but for 5000 cpu it now states only 1 and 2 (obv I'm using 2) Other than that, after setting my power control to Typical the machine has been stable at the lower ram settings, however does make me worried for when I do get a 3080 if when on a pcie4 card will introduce more problems
