ROG Crosshair VIII Extreme - How to use the BIOS SWITCH on motherboard

TeamA

I've recently updated my BIOS from v0211 to v1702 because Thunderbolt 4 needed a firmware update to work from NVM 28 to NVM 38.  While this has yielded OK results, USB 4 devices don't completely work proper.  They have great Read speeds but almost nothing in Write speeds when I test the devices.  Previously my USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 was working great, but something seems to have changed. Now my Samsung T9 Device has reduced read/write speeds to the of USB 2 and 3.  I would like to use the BIOS Switch to go back to the other BIOS and retest my Samsung T9 SSD to see if it will work again.  Anyhow, my question is simple: what is the operation for me to push the Switch Bios button to do this.  I of course will return it back to the Bios I'm currently on after I can properly test my Samsung  T9 (which is a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 device).

By the way I have an AMD 5950X CPU.

Are these the correct steps to using the BIOS Switch button?

Step 1: Shut down the computer

Step 2: Just push the BIOS Switch button and the BIOS LED indicator will then light up on that Bios?

Step 3: Start computer and of course go into Bios to make some setting changes to closely match my current BIOS.  (I don't want to update the 2nd Bios - just use it to test).

Step 4: Boot into Windows

It's just that I keep reading you have to shut down the power using the power switch and remove the power cord, but then the motherboard would have no power for me to push the Bios Switch button.  At least from a logical point of view this doesn't sound right.

Please provide confirmation or correct steps to accomplish.

Thank you.
