Qcode 48?

Opt1mystyq
Level 7
So i got my Ryzen setup yesterday Asus Crosshair hero and Ryzen 1800X problem is i haven't been able to get into the bios yet. Everything powers up ok and motherboard start doing it checks Dram test test seems to pass then it freezes on CPU check with a Q code 48. The manual doesn't seem to have that code listed and Google doesn't seem to have an answer either.

Things i've tried
Switching it on and off again.
Swapping memmory to different slots
Reseating memmory.
Reseating CPU
Plugged a fan into CPU header in case it was failing to detect my AIO triggering a safety state.
EDIT:
tried a single ram module
swapped gpu out for another
connected another screen
removed all drives expansion cards and ran in it the box it came in with just cpu/1 ram module/basic air cooler

Im about out of ideas as to what to do and ready to call it a day and RMA the CPU but just wanted to check if anyone has any suggestions first.
Bios is definately not posting just the same code posting and nothing else.

Ok so i tried updating to BIOS 803 and it's on the bios is updating screen with code 00 which im assuming is a good thing for the momment will see how it goes.

So after an hour computer is still updating with code 00.
After some searching & reading this screen means im basically screwed board is dead.

OK success i think the bios update screen remained for nearly two hours that i waited untill i gave up and pressed reset. But this time the the rog bios flashed up before going into the bios update thing again so i tried the BIOS reset a couple of times to try and get in but had to plug my keyboard into the socket above the flash socket to get it to power up so i could get into the bios. After that i can mess around plugged a SSD in and windows booted. For some reason i did get an overclock failed message even though i have not made any attempt to do so.

Kinda a chuffed for now will see how things go.

I have had the same trouble with the q code 48 stop and I tried pressing the clear CMOS and low and behold my rig booted

I have a non responsive board also. I tried all 3 bios updates available atm to no avail. I also tried installing a flashback update whith no cpu and the board would not do it. I have seen the videos, so know what to expect. I power up push the flashback and nothing happens.

I had a Q-code 48 (it's strange that it doesn't appear in the mobo user guide).

But as I read on the forum, pushing the Clear CMOS button that comes behind your case (on the IO shield) solved it for me! 😄

Now at least it boots, I'll report if I encounter any other stuff.
