Abstract

Trusted Platform Module (TPM) attestation for AMD platforms with ASP firmware TPM might fail with error code 0x80070490 on Windows® systems. This issue is resolved with later versions of AMD firmware. Consult with your motherboard manufacturer and firmware release notes to determine which firmware versions contain the update.

Some applications may have features disabled if TPM attestation fails.

• Example: Gamers may be unable to compete in online cash tournaments.

Issue Details

AMD resolved this issue in TPM firmware updates provided to motherboard manufacturers in 2022.

• Some motherboard manufacturers chose not to redistribute these TPM firmware updates.
• BitLocker™ users can suspend BitLocker™ during these TPM firmware updates, which may clear the TPM outside the Windows® API. If users do not suspend BitLocker™, the computer may enter recovery mode when restarting and may require a recovery key or password to access the computer.

Run “Powershell.exe -Command Get-TPM” to determine if the system is impacted by this issue.

• Motherboards with AMD fTPM 3.*.0.* are impacted, where ‘*’ is any number.

I'm seeing exactly this issue with the Rog Crosshair VIII Dark Hero.  TPM Manufacturer version provided with the latest version of the BIOS for my board is 3.94.0.5.  Can anyone from Asus let us know if they are working on providing the fixed AMD TPM Firmware?  It's a little frustrating to be seeing this issue from a premium gamer-focussed brand.

same on rog strix b450 f gaming with new ryzen 7 5700x didnt testet that cpu yet on  asus prime b 350 plus.

Is your cpu cam in original amd box becouse mine from box works fine and this  what i upgraded is without box ,hope its not becouse off that.Should i eather order original in box.Is that cpu on picture good i mean its work fine but attestation its problem on that 5700x but on 3600x no issue

idk what expect they did not from 2022 and i hear from them relevant will know.

But to be sure iff can put in motherboard tpm module iff hawe check manual.

I got respond from Asus regarding TPM firmware will be resolved by the end of September through the release of a new BIOS version
