Use only AMD Ryzen Master to check your temps, make sure your also running the latest bios e.g. 1107

Mine usually sits at around 60 in the BIOS, no power saving enabled. 80 would concern me too though.

I`m using NZXT cam to monitor my temps .

Yes, it is too hot. What cooler do you have on the CPU?

I wouldn't trust your temps at all, especially if you're overclocking as certain ways of overclocking (changing the multiplier vs bclk) can alter the skew that the cpu uses for reporting temperatures.

on top of that, certain programs will apply a fixed 20c offset and some wont, and both are the wrong way to do the ryzen offset.

Check the bottom of your heatsink, if it is making full contact you'll notice. Then touch the side of the heatsink while you're throttling the cpu and if it's not burning hot then it's not 80c and you're fine.

if you have a temp gun even better. Eventually we'll have software that accurately reports the temp.

My 1800x seem to have the computer shut down the the cpu socket temp reaches 73-75 deg C, and with hm the cpu temp at around 70 deg C.

Does this really mean my computer is REALLY overly hot, OR are perhaps the temp settings for auto-shutdown-due-to-being-hot messed up and wrong for cpu or bios, making the computer shut down when it maybe isn't too hot after all? This is confusing to me.

I also use NZXT Cam as I have a Kraken x62 280MM AIO on my 1800x and the reported temps are +20 degree's higher than those reported by Ryzen Master.

Nzxt cam is accurate with the 1700 . The 1800x has 20 degress offset from bios . What bios are U using , I think Amd has fixed the 20 offset on newer bios, but I`m not sure .
